*beep beep beep*
Oh no... I better get up, and get ready. Right? Oh shoot. I am waaaay to lazy to do that. I am finally getting up. I can't believe I have to get ready for another freaking boring day at scho-Oh. My. Goodness. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I quickly run back to my phone and unlock it. YES! YES! YES! I run downstairs. "IT IS DUCKING SUMMER!"
"Well, good morning to you too, sweetie. Watch your language, please." Oh, my dear mommy. I love her so much. She is sitting on a chair in the kitchen, reading the newspaper. I place a sweet kiss on her cheek.
"Good morning, mom. And I am sorry." I apologize to her. "Oh.Em.Jee. do you know what starts from today?" I ask her in excitement.
"Summer Vacations..." She says. She doesn't look happy. Not happy at all, actually.
"YAY! SUMMER VACAY!" I say with emphasis, trying to at least make her smile a bit. She still looks pretty sad. "Mom? What is wrong?" I ask her nervously.
"Nothing baby." She answers giving me an obviously fake smile.
"Mom. Please tell me. I know you are sad. You know you can trust me..." Oh my god. Let me tell you, I do not like it when my mom is sad.
She lets out a sigh. "Look, baby..." A small pause follows. "Wait a second. Why are you up so early in the morning?" She simply asks me, changing the subject.
"How about you tell me what's up?" I sigh. "But anyway. Since you asked. Last night, I forgot to delete the alarm. I thought I still had school." I say proudly for some unknown reason.
"Since you mentioned school, how was it this year?" She asks me again, I can clearly tell she is trying to avoid talking to me about what's bothering her.
"Aw. Mom! School was just fine!" I say, annoyed by her nonsense questions.
"Alright. I see. Well, is Jamie up, already?" Here we go again. But my Jamie bear, he's my lil' bro. I love him as much as I love mom. And that. Is. A. Lot... Just saying.
"Ugh. Mom. I really don't know." I say looking at the ceiling. "Now, PLEASE. I am begging you, tell me what's up."
"Okay" she nods. "Fine, I'll tell you. There are two reasons." There is a pretty long pause. "Honey" she sighs "I already know you will hate me about these two but-" I cut her off.
"Mom. How could you say that? I would never, ever hate you. Okay, i need you to know that." My hands are now holding hers, gently touching her scars, they are just like mine. A single tear falls down my face, and she wipes it off. Sadly, she is used to it. Sadly.
She nods. "First of all. In the summer, last year, when your dad-" i cut her off again, oops.
I can't believe this! I close my eyes. "Oh my god, mom!" I open them again. "Didn't we say we should completely forget about that jerk?"
Jamie walks in the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. "Um. Who is that 'jerk'?" He asks hiding a laugh in his voice.
"Hah, no one."
"Nobody, kiddo."
"Yeah. Anyway." He yawns. "I'm going back to sleep, but I have to let you know that I feel left out of this family." He puts his hand in his chest showing us that he is 'sarcastically hurt'. He is walking upstairs, heading to his room.
