Survive

Intruder

Another day of walking, searching and surviving. Walking on a never ending road to my death, searching for a reason to stay alive, and surviving from the evil thats in my everyday nonstop,killing,suffering,running,and starving mess of a life. I find and enter an empty neighborhood. At the entrance of the neighborhood there were 2 roads that separated into their own direction. Looking at both roads, trying to make a decision on which way to start. Left or right? I take a second and decided to continue my journey on the left road.

I've searched though a couple of houses and found a small amount of food and no water. I have about an hour of sun light left making me think I have enough time for one more house. As I was walking towards the next house I notice a big blood stain on the drive way. I thought nothing of it and continued walking slowly to the front door. I turned the door knob and it was locked. I walked away. 'I need to get in this house' I thought to myself. This world is even more dangerous at night. I decided I needed to take matters into my own hands, so I hopped over the fence. Now that I was in their backyard I saw all the dead grass and trees. I'm so used to seeing the whole population of earth dead it has no effect on me (what so ever). If anything I feel bad for the ones that are still alive they are the ones who are really suffering, not the dead. I look around and found the backdoor of the house. I walked closer and tried opening it, unlocked. The door swung open showing me the empty,untouched house.

I walked in, examining the lower floor trying to find either food,water or medicine. I found the kitchen, walking to the kitchen I see the fridge, sink, stove, and cabinets . I started with the cabinets, opening them and finding nothing, so I continued to the fridge, it was also empty.

"You find anything you like?" I heard a feminine voice behind me, I could tell she was being sarcastic by the way she said it. I stayed still and silent trying not to give her a reason to kill me .

"Turn around slowly " she said and I did just that. I turned around facing her and watched as she aimed her gun at me. I looked more at the gun then at her so I couldn't describe her.

"Drop your weapons" she said. I stayed silent. "You don't have any weapons?" I shook my head "and you've been alive this long?" .

"I don't really kill them I just run away" I said to her.

She shook her head "you have to kill them, they kill us "

"I don't have the strength to " I said with absolute honesty I know their not human but they were. They had their own lives like we do now but now their just lifeless corpses walking around trying to make people who are still alive one of them.

"I'll put you out of your misery then " she said cocking her gun.

"Rudy? " I heard another voice coming. "Ruby, where are you?" footsteps coming closer to us. "did you take care of the probl-" she said looking at me then at Rudy making her stop talking. "What are you doing?" she said walking towards the situation and still keeping her focus on Rudy.

"Melody go upstairs this is none of your business," Ruby said still aiming the gun at me.

"Rudy, please don't do this" Melody said sounding like she was about to cry but I couldn't tell I just kept my eyes on the gun pointed at me.

"No melody,go upstairs now. I'm not going to say it again."

"Don't kill him. He's not the ones we should be killing"

"Yes but if I have to kill him just to keep us safe then I will " she said putting her finger on the trigger.

"NO RUBY DON'T!!!" Melody screamed at ruby. I'm 100% sure one of the corpse heard it too. I'm sure Ruby had the same thought when she put her gun down and walked to the locked front door and put her ear against it and listened. Me and Melody stayed quite I wasn't going to try to run away I know they're going and that would be suicide.

"They're coming. Go upstairs" she said and we just followed her orders and ran upstairs."put him in a room away from the others, don't feed him, or give him any water. Tie him up and make sure he is away from the others. I don't know if he's been bitten," she said facing Melody and giving her the gun "shoot him if he tries any shit ok? I'm serious Melody," she said pulling out a knife and then running downstairs.

Melody took my hand in hers, pulled me into the hallway and then pushed me in a room with nothing in it. I was on the floor facing down then Melody took my hands behind my back, put on handcuffs and then tied something around my mouth making it hard for me to speech or make any noise.

"Im sorry I just have to do this, you'll understand later if you haven't been bitten," she said leaving me alone in the room. I just stayed laying on the floor facing down and handcuffed. The room was filled with darkness as time past on making me fall sleep.
