It was a cloudy winter morning. Silver woke up and saw all of the snow on the ground. He was starving so he hunted three deer for breakfast. He brought them back. When he got back the others were all awake. When they saw the deer they all ate it. They couldn't get water because the lake was frozen with ice. So they found a cave nearby with a puddle in it. So they drank from that.
When they got back to the den it was colder than before. So they all huddled around each other and lied down. They eventually fell asleep.
Later they woke up and it was night and they were hungry. Scar and Silver went out to hunt while Sheila stayed back at the den with Bone and Jaws. Silver and Scar came back with two deer. Then they all ate. When they were done they went to bed.
Later that night a dim lamp shined into the den. It was a man in a big fluffy coat. He petted the fur of all the wolves. "Oh this fur will do good on my wall the man said. Then he left. He walked back to his house and went to his bed. Then he fell asleep.
