A young boy walked across his lawn, studying the ground. He was puzzled about something, obviously. His mother appeared from her house, calling for the boy to come inside. The sun was setting and it wouldn't be long until it was dark. At least, that's what she said to make him come inside. The boy walked into his home, walking right past his mother. She frowned, sighing. Then, she walked back inside, clearly distressed about something.

Henry Clair, his name was. And Henry thought the world was going to end that night. He had a list of reasons why, and he could talk for hours explaining why he knew the world was going to end. People thought he was crazy, or that he just had a big imagination. Henry hated those people. The people that doubted anything out-of-the-ordinary that could happen. The people that only believed what the weather man told them.

Henry's mother was starting to go insane. Henry never stopped talking about his prediction. She was starting to think he had gone insane. She contemplated taking him to a therapist, but decided against it. Now, something horrible was happening to the mother. She was starting to believe her son.

As the day in which 'the world would end' came closer, she began to grow anxious. All of her son's evidence was adding up. However, she kept telling herself that it was a coincidence. But now that the day was here, she fully believed him. That is why she was so distressed.

Henry glanced out the window of him room, seeing that the sun had not yet set. 'It has begun,' he thought.

Within the next few hours, the sun remained in its same place. Some people had begun to walk outside, watching the sun. Some people called emergency services, hoping for someone to come magically fix the sun.

Then, something even more peculiar happened. The moon began rising as if nothing was abnormal.

Everyone watched in fear as all of these events happened. Henry just sat in his room, placing all of his things neatly in their places. He wanted his room to look nice for his last hour alive.

Henry's mother was on the verge of tears. She did not want to die. She was going to die, and no one would remember her, because she never left her mark on the world.

Henry walked out of his room and approached his mother. He new she would feel this way. It was quite obvious. He hugged her. "Well, Mom, I guess this is the end. I'll miss you." he said, feeling tear form in his eyes. He did not know why he was feeling this way. He had known this was going to happen for a while now. Why was he just now feeling this way? He grabbed his mother's hand, pulling her towards her bedroom. He motioned toward the bed, hinting to get in. He wanted them to be asleep when the world ended. That way, they would not have to feel the pain of when the world suddenly stopped.

They drifted off to sleep, both curling up together. They dreamed of the world not ending, for them to wake up the next morning normally.

And with that, the world stopped spinning. And, not soon after that, it collapsed within itself, killing all life that had ever existed on the pitiful planet.

But who knows, maybe in some distant galaxy, a new source of life studied the Earth as it died. Maybe, one day, the same will happen to them.
