Another regular day at Parker Preparatory Journalism College? Nah, I felt like this day was going to be... different. I’ve only been here for a week. Oh right, I am... Andy Vanlandingham, I’m writing in my new journal since, well I’m at a Journalism College, so why not? I’m pretty regular if you wanna know, nothing special... Well I wish more people knew me, I love people talking to me but I’m too shy. Well I need to go, so I’ll write later. Bye!

I put the journal down and slowly got out of bed, it’s August 11, 2011. It’s a Thursday, the worst day it could possibly be! I have always hated Thursdays, it’s just mocking us because there is one more day until Friday. Half asleep, I shot out of bed when I heard a knock at my door.
“Who is it?” I slowly got up and stood at the door. “What do you want?”
“It’s Arianna and I’m here to wake you up.”
“Oh, hey! Just hold on, okay?”
So, I guess it was longer than expected because we got to class late, 2 hours late.
“So for today, how bout something different? A story this time, but something different! About life, how about that? Well, that’s all for today, just ask me questions if needed.”
Our main teacher is Mr. Hayward. He’s a little bit freaky because he talks about his life too much. I don’t think anyone cares about his 3 children, his dog, his male cat, and his wife. Excuse me if I’m wrong though. So today is August 11, this is the second time I’ve written in this journal, like I said I’d write back. I kept that “promise” but you know, I don’t have to write in this, I guess I’m just... bored. Anyway, today is going to be different! It’s Thursday today, I don’t like Thursday since it mocks us since there is only one more day until Friday, but I think I can live for today. Have to go, bye!

“Hey do you think that we should...”
“Do what?”
“What’s that guy doing on the tree!?”
“Hey wait up! You run too fast Arianna!” What was she looking at? What was the problem...? I wonder...
“What’s wrong with you!”
“I’m trying to get this cat for the little girl down there.”
“It was a rhetorical question idiot! You’re gonna fall, you know that!”
“Calm yourself...”
“OH MY GOD!” I stood in shock, he fell. What do we do! He just fell! “What do we do!”
“Mr. Idiot will be fine.”
“Arianna! He just fell from a-”
“She’s right, I’m perfectly fine. I do have a name though. It’s not Mr. Idiot for your concern.”
“So what is it?” Her eyes, they had this annoyed look, hopefully he doesn’t keep bugging her.
“Shane, I’m Shane Quincy.”
“Wait... Shane Quincy? You mean Tyler Anderson’s best friend?”
“Yeah, you know him?” Surprised as he was he actually smiled knowing she wasn’t as mean as she sounded.
“Yeah! Oh this is Andy Vanlandingham and I am Arianna Winter.”
“Nice names. Hey, I gotta go. So I’ll catch you later.”
His last sentence faded as he was running down the bike trail but we realized, there was this sweetness about him. He made us want know more about him. He... He was almost an angel helping us escape this boring world. Hmm... who knows, maybe I’ll sleep on it. So goodnight.

“G’ morning! It’s 8:00 and we have an early presentation we need to attend.”
“Ugh! I don’t want to! Now leave my room and go back to sleep. Please?”
Arianna slowly woke me up and pulled the curtains to the side. The sun brightly showed through the translucent, white, under curtain. Hesitantly, “Fine, I’m up. Happy?”
She laughed a little, “Yeah. I actually am. Now hurry up. I’ll be waiting outside. Ok?”
“Why? You know it’s okay to be inside my room, It’s not like I’m gonna tase you or anything.”
“Yeah but I’m talking to someone, so just hurry up this time.” I peeked over the bed when she walked away, I wonder who she was talking to. Probably that guy we met yesterday. Uhm... Shane I think.
“I’m done! Now lets head out!”
“You sound more than happy...” Her voice held concern as she said it.
“Ha, well... no, It’s just a front, but we should get-” Again, interrupted while I am talking. Who was this person!
“Hello. I am Edith. I am here to talk to you two.”
“Excuse me but we need to get going.” She seemed weird so I begged Arianna to get going, no use!
“Yes, what would you like?”
“To talk about your fate.”
“Fate?”
Now I need to hear about this! My fate? I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. Maybe it’s something amazing! Maybe I’m going to end up... Famous! Well, maybe that more like my future, but fate is going to take me on a famous future! I can just tell. But that wasn’t it, you see it was weird. She was telling us we were going to... DIE! Crazy isn’t it? I thought it was. Die, that word made me shiver. I didn’t think that was right, but that’s what she had said. She said that fate is something chosen when we are born. Fate is this path you go on and you change by some choices. Yes, I did say some. This women, Edith. She said fate is something you cannot change, it’s been decided since you were born. It never changes, but I don’t agree with that. I find it nonsense. Yet, she kept talking after I told her that. Edith had said the choices you make sometimes effect how your fate will be, but fate finds other roads that will lead you back. So it’s almost impossible to escape fate. Now this Edith women... Edith Gray was her name. She was very soft-spoken and kind of weird. Yet, she seemed very delicate and emotionless. Almost like a porcelain doll. It was almost freaky. Her eyes made her even more freaky, they were grey and glassy looking. She had bluish-grey hair that was shoulder length, I guess that was sort of normal. But not to me anyway! She even mentioned how meeting Shane was apart of “Fate” too! Well you know what I think. I think meeting this... Edith Grey women, it’s going to change how that Thursday and Friday were. I think that this... this is going to let us escape our now suddenly perfect, quaint lives. Meeting Edith Grey is going to change how I think. Edith Grey is going to change our lives...
