We were all stacked inside the bottom of the ship like tinned fish. I wanted to cry because at that very moment they separated my family and I. I was screaming for them as they were pulled away. Unfortunately I got a beating for that.
The ship was hot, I could barely lift my head to look for my family. As it began to rain I knew it was hopeless to look for them now. I thought to myself what were they going to use for, I'm only a kid!
Days and days on this thing with squashed sweaty people (including me). I've never been on a ship before. I wondered how long was this going to take. I could not stand it any longer I was going to jump off the ship.
Once I had turned my head to the left trying to figure out a way to escape, a man had closed his eyes and was very, very pale. I started to panic and shook him with all my might but he would not budge.
He...He...He was dead!*****

My feelings as a slave
Historical FictionI remember once I was with my family. It was a bright blue sunny day and my father was outside growing crops, my mother cleaning the yard. I was playing with my little sister. All was well until we heard men marching up to our home.
