"And I told him that if he leaves me alone I will go to his party."

A pause. "But do you want him to leave you alone?"

"Yes!" I say, even though it may or may not be true.

"I personally think that you should keep trying." Mallory says. "He's supposedly hot and he sounds intriguing. Keep with it."

I keep my voice to a whisper, so Harry can't hear me through the walls. "Yeah, he's attractive, but he only wants to sleep with me. And we both know that that's not happening."

"Just go to the party, make sure nothing happens, and leave. If he doesn't stop following you after that, just ignore him."

I groan, rolling onto my back. "Okay. Thank's for the advice."

"Have fun at the party. Tell Harry hi, also."

"I will,"

She says goodbye, and I hang up. It's early still, and there's nothing to do.

I choose to go and get an early lunch, walking down the street to the bar I went to a while ago, Germain.

The bartender is there, Louis, who catches my eye when I walk inside.

"Adella, how've you been?"

I sit down. "Good, and you?"

"Busy, but I've been good."

I order a water and some small bar food, enjoying it while Louis talks about his first own week in France.

"It was crazy, I knew barely any French at the time, so I had quite a hard time getting places."

"How'd you learn?" I ask.

"I moved here around the age of 16 with my parents, and over time I picked up on the language."

"That's cool."

"What about you?" He asks, drying a glass with a towel.

"I visited when I was younger, and I decided I wanted to live here, so I started a tutor and took classes in high school."

He laughs. "That's cooler than my story."

I chuckle, the weight from the impending party with Harry lifted from my shoulders.

"I can ask if I can get off early if you want to do something?" He pours me another glass of water.

"I actually can't, I'm going to a party. I'm free tomorrow, though."

"Sounds good. Uh, here's my number." He takes a napkin, scribbling something down in childish writing.

I take the napkin, putting it in my purse. "I will see you tomorrow, then."

"Tomorrow." He says, waving me a goodbye before returning to serving drinks.

I still have several hours left before I'm due to go up to Harry's and in that time, I go shopping.

There's no telling that I should wear to Harry's party, if I even go. Maybe I should have told Louis yes.

I buy a floral skirt and another sweater, and also stop in a bookstore. I've already read all the books that I bought on the second day I was here. There's have so much free time that I have nothing better to do. The television shows are boring, and I've bought all the clothes I need for quite a while.

I call my mom, finding no response. A few minutes later, she leaves me a text, saying that she's at brunch with my aunt.

Mallory is no help either, and she tells me that she's shopping with her friends.
