Chapter 14

“Hey Victoria how are you.”

“M-mom is that really you?”

“Yeah it’s me I really miss you and I finally got to visit you.”  She replied with a smile. I went up to try to hug her but before I had a chance something was blocking my way.

“Mom, why can’t I hug you?”

“It’s the wall you can’t pass if your alive so you can only touch me when you’re died please always remember that.”

“I will but I have to tell you something.”

“What is it?”

“Why were you cheating on dad with A.J.?”

“What do you mean your dad?”

“I found him mom after all these years you lied to me telling me that he left because he didn’t want me but he really does want me, mom and he was what we were always messing in our life was dad he still loves you mom I can see it in his eyes when he talks about you I can see the sparkle in his eyes every time you mention his name. i also know that he didn’t know you were pregnant with me until after you left and I am begging you please tell me what’s going on I can’t live my live knowing that something was happening please mom tell me.” I paused for a moment then asked her, “Did you really love dad or was it all just a mistake.”

“No matter what happened Victoria, I always loved you father and I always will.” I could tell she actually meant it because of the sadness in her eyes.

“Then tell me what happened between you and Adrian? I went to visit him and….” I couldn’t finish what I was going to say because she interrupted me.

“Victoria, does he know I am your mother.”

“Yes he does.”

“I don’t want you to ever see him again he might look like a nice person and act like one but inside I know he is not. Does he know where you live?”

“No he doesn’t but mom what happened between you guys.”

“I will tell you but you have to promise me that no matter what I tell you right now you are going to stay away from Adrian.”

“I promise mom.”

“Well this all happened before I meet your dad. I went to this coffee shop to go get something to drink I was tried that day because I had been helping my friend move her things. When I went inside I went to order what I wanted and that’s when I saw him. I have to admit he was pretty cute. I was still there when he went up to me and introduced himself it was great. He asked me for my number and I gave it him. The next day he called me telling me he wanted to meet me at the park. We stayed at the park and talked to each other. After that we continued talking to each other and going out in dates he then asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him yes because I really loved his personality. He was caring, sweet, and really nice. He was still like this after words but then one day he just started treating me like I meant nothing to him. I decided to break up with him but then when I did he beat me up and told me that he is not going to accept that and that we are not over. So I stayed with him for another week but he would just get drunk and beat me up. One day I couldn’t take it no more and I left. That’s where your father comes. I didn’t have no place to live but I finally got money to buy a little apartment. I went to the movies and Jose caught my attention. We started to hang out and then came the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn’t know if I could trust him but I still stayed yes because with Adrian I never saw that spark in his eyes like I saw with your father. We were then together for 2 years and I was really enjoying it until one day I got a letter. It was from Adrian, he was telling me that he finally found me and we can be together again. I never replied and just threw the letter in the fire. After a while I found out I was pregnant of you I was so happy and I was going to tell Jose that day when he got back from home. But then I got a letter of Adrian telling me that he knows I am engaged and if I don’t leave Jose he will kill him. I couldn’t stand the chance of that happening so I then deiced that I was going to run away. When Jose told me he was leaving for a business trip I knew that was the best opportunity to run away and go find somewhere safe.  That’s when I got the house you have and I stayed there but every day I always thought about Jose knowing that I will never see him again.”

“So you never cheated on Jose?”

“No I never did and I never would have, but after a week of having Adrian sending me letters and poems I couldn’t take it no more I was about to tell Jose and the police but that when he threatened to kill Jose and I couldn’t risk the chance of that happening so that’s why I did that.”

I was about to ask her how she died but then she said, “I am sorry Victoria but I have to go I will be able to talk to you another day but please remember not to get close to A.J you don’t know what he is capable of doing to you knowing that you are Jose child and not his.”

“I won’t go near him mom.”

“Oh and do me another thing.”

“Sure what is it?”

”Tell your dad that I love him and that I always did, if you want you can tell him why I had to leave him.”

“I will tell him mom.”

“I love you Victoria and also look at you your so older now and you’re so pretty have you gotten a boyfriend yet.”

“Yeah I am going out with Justin do you remember him.”

“Yes I do and I know that you guys are going to stay together forever bye.”

“Bye mom I love you.” I could see the tear coming out of her eyes but then she just disappeared in the fog and I woke up. Now that I know why my mom left my dad I can be calmer and tell him why she left him but the thing that is bothering me is Does Adrian have anything to do with my mother’s death?

I got ready and got in my car. I drove to my dad’s house but on my way there I saw that a car was following me and I didn’t know what to do so I went in a different direction and instead of going to my dad’s I went to Wal-Mart. I parked my car and got out. On the side of my window I could see a person parked the car a few cars back and was just waiting there. I started walking inside and when I was inside i went up to a worker.

“Excuse me but can I go out through your back door.”  

“Umm yeah sure just follow me.” I started following her making sure no one was following me. When I got out the back door I went to the place where I saw the other persons car parked and when I didn’t see them in there I went to my car and drove to my dad’s house.

Unknown’s POV

“Dad did you find where she was going.”

“Ugh don’t remind me I lost her when we were in Wal-Mart.”

“Well Adrian if you just ask me- your daughter- you will know where Victoria lives.”

“Wait you know where she lives.”

“Yes father I’ll show you tomorrow.”

“Alright but don’t forget I’ll be waiting here for you.”

ohh who do you think is this unkown person aka Adrians daughter?
