Will She Ever See The Truth?

Part 3- chloe's date

Aubrey's POV

"I can't believe her," Aubrey muttered as she paced around her room. "I can't believe she's so stupid. How many hints have I dropped? We're supposed to be best friends. Best friends understand each other and their emotions as if they were their own. But whatever. She's on her date with Tom. They'll go live happily ever after while I stay here and cry myself to sleep every night. No, you know what? That won't happen. I'll go find somebody else to fall in love with, and hopefully this time they'll like me back. Wouldn't that be grand, Aubrey? The feeling that you know somebody loves you back?"

Chloe's POV

"I brought you five different kinds of sandwiches, because i didn't know what you liked. Idiot, right? I forgot to ask my date what kind of food she likes." He hung his head.

"Aw, Tom, don't worry about it, i'll eat anything."

"Really? Wow, that's a relief. Most of the girl's i've dated in the past only eat the weirdest shit, it was always impossible to surprise them with food."

"Well, you won't have that issue with me." Chloe smiled. "Except shellfish, I hate that."

"Me too!"

"Really? That's so weird."

Tom started to unpack the various sandwiches as they settled underneath a nice oaktree. "Okay I have roast beef, turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, a grilled cheese, and PB &J."

"Wow, that's a lot to choose from," Chloe commented.

"Pick whatever you like. I'll eat anything."

Chloe decided on a grilled cheese, she had been craving one for days now. "Thanks," she said with a content smile.

"I have to admit," Tom said sheepishly. "I've been wanting to ask you out for a while, but never got the courage to ask."

"Aw," Chloe said, finding this extremely adorable. "Well I'm glad you finally did."

"Me too," he smiled. "I have a surprise."

"What is it?" She asked, getting excited.

"You'll see," he winked.

"Oh, you can't do that to me! Now it'll be on my mind for the whole date," she teased.

"Well, maybe you'll get it a bit earlier. But not here."

Chloe could see it in his eyes that it was something he was really excited about. She couldn't wait to find out what he had planned for her. 'He's so sweet,' she squealed in her head.

The rest of the date went really well. They both had a lot in common, so there was a lot of things to talk about. For instance, Chloe talked about her love for animals and her desire to become a vetenarian, and Tom replied with saying he did too. Then when she said her favorite artist was David Guetta, he agreed. The weird thing was, when Chloe had ask Tom what his favorite song was, he couldn't come up with one. She found that weird, but then he explained that he loved them all. She believed it and moved onto the next topic.

Two hours later, when it started to get chilly, Tom offered Chloe her jacket and announced that they should get going.

"Where to?" She asked.

"My place," he offered.

Chloe didn't know if she felt entirely comfortable with this idea, it was only her first date. He must've seen the hesitation in her face, because his eyes got wide quickly and said, "No, not like that! I meant as a totally casual hang out place, because I know you have a roommate and I want to be alone with you some more."
