Winter Widow

I was there. The entire time I was there. Watching, waiting. I had a mission, but to others it would seem an impossible mission. But that's what I was there for. The impossible. I was the "agent" no one noticed. I was the "innocent bystander" in the alien attack. But who am I really? Lets just say Steve Rogers isn't the only one who slept 70 years.

"Winter!" That's what I'd been called ever since I woke up, some call me The Winter Soldier but I've never really had a real name since I woke up. I don't remember any of my past except right before I fell asleep.

I was dangling on a railing from the side of a train. That doesn't sound bad but the train side was shot out so I was actually dangling over a cliff with a raging river at the bottom. Before me reaching for my hand was a man in a spangly outfit. He had a look of desperation on his face as he desperately reached out for my hand. "You gotta give me your hand!" He yelled out. As soon as I reached for his hand a terrible sound rang out and the rail bent as I slipped from it and fell. The man above screamed out something I didn't quite catch. I didn't know how far I had till I made impact and that bothered me. I knew this was the end so I closed my eyes and waited. Soon I felt cold and wet.

I never expected to open my eyes again and when I did I don't think I ever would've imagined all the technology I saw in that one lab room I was in. Soon a man walked in. He was tall with short buzz cut hair. He had a tux on and looked like a very important man. But the words that came outta his mouth confused me more. "Youve been asleep for a long time." how long was I gone? "You're a super soldier, Winter" winter? I thought is that my name? "No one else in the world like you. You were made by the impossible for the impossible. Do you understand?"

"Yes." I croaked out.

"Good, because your training starts today." With that he gave one last glance and left the room.
