It's already October.
I feel like it was only five minutes since school started, but it's been much longer than that. Everyone is living with purpose and the ones who don't, seek it.
Kids playing, teenagers partying, and adults working. Everyday is the twin of the day before. People surviving war. People surviving disasters. People surviving pain. People surviving sadness. People surviving hurt. People surviving people. And I'm watching. Just watching, pretending I'm happy and getting good at it too. But I'm not, I've never been happy, I've never even experienced the feeling. I'm the most popular girl in school, I socialize with everyone; Geeks, jocks, emo, and Asians too, with the help of my friends, I stopped bullying in school, I have the best grades, I should be happy, right?
WRONG!
I feel like I've done nothing useful in my life and that drives me insane. I have never dated, people find it strange for some reason, that the number one most wanted girl in school has never dated. Or that I'm a virgin, and that I've never been kissed. But my friends, my family, and everyone else in my school, only look at me from the outside, they only care about appearances, who's dating who, who slept with who. Everyone asks; How old are you? How tall? Are you a virgin? Do you like sex? Are you a party animal? But no one asks the most important question; ''How do you feel?''
''You're ditching me again, aren't you?'' Ashley slightly yelled, approaching me, and pulling me out of my thoughts till I realized I've been here for 30 minutes.
''Me? No! I would never do such thing.'' I reply sarcastically.
''School was over 40 minutes ago. What are you still doing here?'' She asks while putting her purse on the table and sitting down across from me.
''I was just...'' I sigh and continue, ''I don't know what I was doing but I was about to leave.''
''You're still coming to the bonfire, right?''
''Yeah, of course.'' I reply when we reach the side walk. Ashley's house is close to mine and they are both near our school, so we always walk.
