Rhaine's POV

I woke up the next morning to soft sunlight hitting me. I sat up and stretched, then realised who was sleeping next to me.

The warm light made his skin seemed to glowing. He looked so peaceful and calm. I pulled cover off of myself and started to slowly climb from the bed.

Zayn's arm curled around my waist pulling me back toward him. "Where do you think you're going?" I smiled at the sound of his morning voice.

"I was going to go downstairs and watch a show." I said leaning on my elbow so I could see him. "Now why would you walk all the way downstairs when you could do the same thing in here?" He gave me a slight smirk.

"Because this isn't our bedroom, it's Harry's. He could come home at any minute." I smiled and got up from the bed. He groaned and rubbed his eyes.

"Well I guess that means I should get up. I can't let a young lady like you sit downstairs alone." Zayn sat up.

"No you can't." I grabbed his hands and pulled him to his feet.

We sat down on the sofa and started watching some random show. We didn't pay any attention to it.

Zayn was on his back, stretched out on the sofa with his head on my lap. I ran my fingers along his jaw line. "I know I need to shave." He said with a sigh.

"I like your facial hair." He chuckled at my comment. "That was a weird thing to say wasn't it?" I laughed. "No it's not that, well it's kind of that, but Perrie hated my scruff. I always had to shave for her."

"You shouldn't have to change. If the person you love doesn't like something about you then they don't deserve you." I said looking down at him, not making eye contact, just looking down.

"Smart words. Why don't you live by them?" I cocked my head, confused. "What's that supposed to mean?" I questioned.

"Niall told me that your ex had you on a very strict diet. Why did you stay with him for so long, Rhaine?" He sat up right.

"I had nowhere else to go. I loved James and he loved me too. He just wanted me to lose weight." I stared at my hands.

"If a guy really loves you the only thing he'll want to change about you is your last name." I said softly.

"Thats the sweetest thing I've heard any guy say ever. Why can't more guys be like you?" I said with a smile.

"Well not all guys are jerks." He said. They were to me. My first boyfriend cheated on me, then James beat me, my own father abused and molested me before that.

I was constantly being harassed by the guys at my school, that's why I was more than happy to leave that place.

When James told me that we could run away together it was the happiest moment of my life. He'd never known about my home life, what I went through, just that I was done with Sheffield.

The first time James ever hit me I promised myself that it was an accident and that I brought it own myself by pissing him off. My best friend Tess saw my bruise and told me I needed to leave him.

Then James hit me the second time. Tess saw that mark, too. The next thing I knew her brother Riley was knocking on my door. Riley was like my big brother. He was strong but James was stronger.

After that I wasn't allowed to leave the house. Since I couldn't leave and walk around I began gaining weight. James didn't like that so I was on a very harsh diet.

"Why are you crying?" Zayn asked. I sniffed and wiped away the tear that was rolling down my cheek. "I'm not." I looked away from him.

"I know how badly he hurt you." Zayn whispered. "He was the only guy I could ever trust." I sniffed again. "You can trust me." I looked up at him.
