Adam-
It was three in the morning. Adam awoke from a dream about Tim to the sound of his dog Roxy growling and snapping at something beside him in his bed.
"Son of a bitch!" A girl shouted in pain who Adam recognized as Melanie. He heard the sound of a book falling to the floor as he shifted in his bed. he flicked the switch to the lamp at his bedside and light filled the room as he saw Melanie stuff something in the back of her pants. Adam gave Melanie a tired expression. Melanie wore her ripped blue jeans and orange floral blouse. Adam however wore just his black gym shorts and AC/DC T-shirt.
What was she doing in here? It was late at night and he apparently awoke to the sound of his dog defending him from an idiotic home invader. Adam was use to showing up in his house unexpectedly, but usually she'd just raid the fridge and go through Adam's internet history while he slept.
"Melanie?" Adam asked, stiffly propping himself up onto his right elbow. Melanie looked at Adam with an awkward look, shifting her gaze around the room uneasily. Adam knew she was up to something, having forgotten about what Melanie had stuffed in the back of her blue jeans. There wasn't much for her to look at in his room. Adam's room was fairly big. There was black carpeting on the floors, matching the his fluffy black bed sheets and black furniture. A desk rested at a corner of the room, the computer on it still on and a screen saver of the NFL football logo. Adam liked having black furniture even though he wasn't one of those gothic people. He felt like it was a little more masculine than the other colors he could've had it.
"Uh. This is all just a dream." Melanie told Adam with an awed tone, weirdly waving her hands around like she was shaping in invisible clouds in the air. Adam gave her a weird look as Melanie took giant steps across his room, going to his bedside and turning off the lamp on his nightstand. Adam mouthed "What the fuck." as Melanie stepped out of his room.
What the fuck is wrong with her?
"Mmmmm I'll see you when dawn breaks the morn young Jedi." Melanie said with a fake Yoda accent, closing the door behind herself. Adam looked at the door, his mouth agape. It were moments like these that Adam questioned his friendship with Melanie. She was a great friend. She made Adam laugh more than anyone when she wasn't being annoying. When she was being annoying it was just to get a rise out of Adam. Melanie took things as a joke, Adam however didn't. He knew she was just having fun, it was one of the reasons she and Adam were popular.
However Adam liked to ruin her fun.
"I know this isn't a dream dumbass." Adam drawled tiredly at Melanie, but amused. He stifled a laugh as she opened the door, peering inside to flip Adam the bird before slamming the door shut. Adam smirked. "In your dreams."
"You're gross!"
"And you're misleading."
"And you're a douche bag." Melanie retorted. With that Melanie stormed off and Adam's smirk grew bigger, lying back down and shutting his eyes once more. Nothing entertained him more than getting Melanie all flustered... Well that and watching Tim. The thought of Tim sent a pang through his heart.
Adam was unsure of what Tim's choice would be. Adam wanted more than anything for Tim to change his classes and be around him more often. Whenever Adam was with Tim he felt less empty inside. He knew how sweet Tim was. The boy was like a kicked puppy that wanted to be loved. Adam wanted to be the one to love him. Adam wanted to get closer to Tim and hold him like he was going to fade like a dream if Adam let go. He felt stupid for his feelings. How could he allow himself to fall in love with Tim so easily? Perhaps somehow, someway, Adam could relate to how Tim was.
