I looked up as a guard reached down picking me up. He walked quickly into the house placing me on the couch.
"I'm going to get a doctor," the guard said rushing away as I held my side.
"Sapphire," Tony said rushing to my side. He grabbed my hand as tears slipped down my face.
"Move," a woman said kneeling next to me. She pushed into my stomach as a whimper escaped my lips. "She needs a hospital or someone who can heal her."
"Nathan," I gasped as my vision blurred.
"NATHAN!" Tony yelled when he materialized next to me. He looked at everybody in the room before he took my hand his magic rushing deep into my body. I yanked my hand away as the pain magnified.
"Damn it," I said as Nathan's eyes widened.
"Did you use the baby's magic?" Nathan question as I nodded. "I can't heal her she needs a hospital in the next few minutes or she and the baby will die." Tony scooped me up as a guard ran off to get a car. A red jaguar pulled up out front as Tony placed me in the backseat next to himself. Nathan jumped in the driver seat hitting the gas. We hit the highway as Tony looked at me.
"Faster she's really pale!" Tony said as everything went dark...
(Tony's POV)
"Shit we're losing her!" I yelled as Nathan floored it passing every car. We reached the hospital pulling into the ambulance bay. I got out holding Sapphire'a limp body in my arms. A few doctors ran toward us trying to get us to move the car before stopping to look at Sapph."Get a crash cart!" A doctor yelled after taking her pulse. I placed Sapphire on a hospital bed as they wheeled her inside to the waiting crash team. I held her hand tightly as tears filled my eyes. Damn it she's not supposed to be in any danger anymore yet she is constantly. "I don't have a pulse."
"She's ten weeks pregnant," I said as the doctors pause before putting the paddles on her.
"Clear!" The doctor said before shocking her. I looked at the heart monitor watching it flatline again. "300 clear!" I watched her heart return to normal before the ultrasounded her belly. "I have fluid in the uterus. Book an OR we are taking her up right now."
"Wait what does that mean?" I asked as a nurse faced me.
"It means this is very serious we'll fill you in after," the nurse said rushing to catch up to my wife as they loaded her into the elevator. I turned punching a wall as Nathan grabbed my arm.
"Tony she wouldn't want this," Nathan said trying to get me to pull it together. I sat in a chair in the waiting room thinking of my child in her womb. I hated the child at first but now I can't stand the thought of losing the baby.
"I can't be here," I said getting to my feet. I rushed from the hospital running down the street Nathan following quickly behind.
"Tony she needs us here!" Nathan yelled as I faced him.
"No I can't just sit here and do nothing I'm going to make sure my father is dead!" I screamed as Nathan stood there clearly displeased with that.
"She would have stayed for you," Nathan said causing a wave of guilt to hit me. I groaned walking back toward the hospital. I sat down as Nathan grabbed a cup of coffee. I buried my face in my hands as Nathan sat next to me.
"How does Sapphire handle this waiting?!" I asked looking at the clock to find only a minute had passed.
"She has faith," Nathan said handing me the coffee. I took the cup drinking it quickly.
"It's hard," I said softly as Nathan nodded.
"I know. I wasn't good with the faith thing. I thought she was going to die and I instantly went for dark magic," Nathan said as I looked up at him.
"You two are very similar you know. She only crossed that line to save her family. She also refused to cross it unless absolutely necessary," I said to him for the first time seeing why they didn't work out. They were way too similar to be happy together.
"No man she's way better than us both," Nathan said as I nodded.
"That she is," I said when a nurse sprinted down the hallway. He stood in front of me panting out of breath.
"How important is this pregnancy?" The nurse asked.
"She wants the baby but if it's lose her or the baby I choose her," I said as he nodded rushing down the hall again.
"You know if they take the baby out she probably won't forgive you," Nathan said as I nodded.
"I don't care if she hates me she will at least be around to hate me," I said firmly as Nathan nodded.
"I would do the same," Nathan said as I stood. I walked toward the window looking at the city below. They were so peaceful a woman could carry her baby to term without having to worry that she was going to be tossed around by a Lycan. Sapphire trusted my father and I should have made her leave I knew how dangerous he was. When I was a child he broke my arm in two places to train me he claimed. I knew it wasn't to train me as my mother had bruises on her arms up until she left with me fleeing to another pack. I hoped Sapphire's Alpha status would protect her but I was so wrong. I felt a wave of guilt hit me as it was clear this is all my fault. I was the reason my father attacked her. I was too happy for his taste.
"It's all my fault," I whispered a tear falling down my face. I could lose her and there wasn't anything I could do to change it...
