Alice scribbled furiously on the piece of paper. "Wrong" she thought. She could never seem to get math right. The 11 year old pulled at her blond hair and sighed. "206 x 52 =... 9,567? WRONG." she growled. "10,712", someone said behind her. She turned to look at her brother. "I'M supposed to figure it out Reese." She really hated her twin brother sometimes. She took this seriously, her brother was not supposed to help. "But the faster you finish, the sooner you can play hide and seek." she glared at him. "I don't want to play you're stupid game." she said before turning back to her homework. She wrote down his answer and moved to the next problem. "5467 - 767 ="... "4,700" Reese blurted out. Alice's cheeks turned red "REESE!" she yelled. "I will leave you alone, IF you play hide and seek." he said. She sighed. "Fine. I'll play you're stupid game." Reese grinned. "I have to be IT to.", he said "Whatever floats your boat" she mumbled.

Reese turned to the wall and started counting, "1..2..3...", as she she ran down the hallway towards the front door. "Don't run in the house!" she heard he mother scream. "I'M NOT!" she screamed back as she ran through the front door. She slammed it behind her and breathed in the smell of the woods. She sighed and then looked around for a place to hide. She could just put a leaf on her head to get over with, but Reese would just make her play again. Then it came to her. "The shed!" She quickly ran through the leaves and dry grass towards the big, bulky shed. She slipped inside and looked around. "Where to hide..." she thought as she looked around the shed. "Maybe inside the cabinet? In the empty trash can? Behind the big wooden door? In the-" Her head turned back towards the door. "Since when has that been there?" Her head tilted to the side trying to remember the door.

She thought and thought.... but she had never seen a door there. She walked up to it, her being too curious not to. She noticed a carving in the wood. She knelt down to see the carving, and saw that it was a carving of a key. Forgetting all about the game of hide and seek, she stood up and turned the nob. She opened the door, and shock appeared across her face as she stared at what was behind the door. Swirls. Blue and white swirls. She suddenly felt herself being pulled in. "What the h-"

and then she saw white. it was just white. but it was beautiful.

and then pitch black.
