"Let's hurry!" Tyler was looking outside from the store window. I was too embarrassed to look because I was in my shark onesie in public. I don't like being thought of as weird, even though it is fun to be. I pulled my hood down so no one saw my face. Just then I heard a loud boom. I turned around to the window where Tyler was and saw a giant thunder cloud. I love thunder clouds. They look so cool. I turned back around and ran to my mom. "We have to hurry, there's a thunderstorm!" My mom quickly grabbed the phone charger she was going to buy and speed walked towards the cashier. "That will be 10 eur-" The cashier was cut off. "Thank you." and we left the store.

It was 8:30 pm when it started to rain. We were in the car heading to the hotel and me and Tyler were reading The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire. My mom had Twenty One Pilots on the radio. It was perfect, but only for that moment. My body jolted forward and made me hit my face on the back of the seat. I heard glass breaking and my vision was blurry. I was dizzy and off balance.  My vision got better and the car was spinning, Tyler was unconscious. "AJ!" My mom yelled. "Yeah?" I replied back. "I love you." "I love you too." I replied crying. My head hit the window. I blacked out.

I opened my eyes. My ears were ringing and I could barely see. My eyes clear up and I was being shook. I looked over and Tyler was shaking me. "AJ, AJ!" She had tears dripping down her face. My ears stopped ringing. I could hear the raindrops hitting the car. My head was soaking wet. Tyler let go of me and started pushing on the car door, I knew what she was doing. I limped over to her and kicked it open with the strength I still had. We got out and immediately hugged each other. I was crying on her shoulder, she was crying on mine. We both knew my mom was dead. A whole crowd of people were watching, but I didn't care. I was now an orphan.
