Chapter 2 : Change

1212 Hours

Everything changed that day. 2 missiles struck the Academy of Espionage each 937 seconds apart. The first hit the opposite side of campus making a sound I could only describe as horrid.

      I turned to Erica by instinct. As I looked into her eyes they looked terrified then snapped back to her normal self. She ran straight to a weird looking plant I always thought was out of place so when Erica pulled a branch off and it revealed a trap door I wasn't surprised. Erica knew the building better than the back of her hand so without thinking I stepped into the trapdoor revealing a bunker .

     Shortly after she entered and locked the door. Being Erica I wasn't surprised, after all, I was the only student she trusted. Erica showed me the bunker it was around 5 acres which was big but around 3 acres were used for farming , about half an acre for artillery, another half an acre was used for a base of operations there were high-tech computers at the base of command, so I knew it was recently renovated, another quarter acre for living showers, beds, etc., and another third of an acre for entertainment ,kitchen ,and gym . "Erica, what is this place?" I asked "A bunker built before The Academy of Espionage was built. It was recently renovated when The CIA found out about  SPYDER" she responded.

    I felt  the ground rumble the second missile had hit. Although I knew nothing was gonna happen to me because I was in the bunker I still instinctively fell to the floor in look for cover. Something strange happened when I fell Erica giggled and she almost never laughs . "Maybe the stress is getting to her ." I thought.

    Moments later I saw her break down into tears. Instinctively I ran towards her "Are you ok?" I asked. And then something strange happened stranger than when she giggles stranger than when she smiled and asked me to lunch she hugged me.

She sniffed "No, I can't do it.". "Can't do what?" I replied. "I can't help beat SPYDER." . "Look I'm worried too but we have to try we've beaten them before." I said with fake confidence in truth I didn't think we could beat them either but I knew we had to try."Yes, we did but that was with the help of grandpa, Zoe, Chip, and Warren but  they all died on Operation Alpha without them what do we do?".

"I don't know." I said sorrowly.
