Dear You,
We counted every fault
That lay within the stars
We bottled our feelings up
Like fireflies trapped in jarsOur mouths spoke of embracing imperfection
A language our tongues don't recognise
For we only saw flaws in each other
The only thing we memoriseOur hearts beat in different rhythms
Our thoughts can't connect as one
Our minds forget the good times
Our knotted hands come undoneThe hurt embedded heavy in our hearts
We carry them like an anchor out to sea
All the little specks of light in the darkness
That we unfortunately fail to seePerhaps our love is a lesson for us
We pay a price for our foolishness
For our failure to see the stars in the night
Our fears diminishing our happinessWell,
I Guess this is goodbye
A farewell marked with a kiss
Regret washing over us
For all the stars we have missedLove,
Me
