CHAPTER 18
(TAYLOR'S POINT OF VIEW)
I received hardly any sleep that night. For one, she wasn't in my arms. I couldn't feel her steady heart beating, or her sweet breath fanning my skin. Her warmth was no where I could feel it and her smile seemed to somehow vanish from my mind. It was incredible the amount in which I did not retain in my memory about people themselves, but I could retain theoretical knowledge quickly and simply. People were a different matter entirely.
There was a sudden knock at my old bedroom door. This knock was not a gentle one. Instead, it sounded urgent, impatient and hurried.
"Taylor?! Get up already!" Damon's voice beamed through the wooden door.
I had no time to reply because only half a second later, Tyler was storming through the door, Jason following behind him.
"What on earth are you doing?!" Tyler roared. "You're going to be late if you don't lift your arse out of bed! I'm sure Nasettia would love you being late for your WEDDING!" he continued with a hint of sarcasm to his last sentence.
It was hard to take all of this in - I was still half asleep. I looked at the clock, and surely enough, it was only an hour until midday. The wedding was in only in about three hours.
I cursed, which was extremely rare for me. The last time I could remember was when Nas woke me for the birth of Tahlia.
"C'mon!" Jason screeched, waking me from my dazed state of mind.
Damon came towards me and began yanking me out of bed. Jason and Tyler soon pitched in, and in turn, I was awkwardly carried out into the kitchen of Mum and Dad's place. Neither were in sight though.
"Guys! Put me down - I can walk myself!" I tried to make my voice sound fierce, but I was simply too tired.
I was suddenly seated at the dining table, and Jason walked into the kitchen area. "Coffee," he continued to mutter to himself as he brewed up a strong dose. Tyler and Damon went around the kitchen, busying themselves with various tasks that I couldn't care less about.
"Hey, where is everyone else?" I asked as Jason placed a huge mug of strong coffee in front of me.
"At the venue, duh!" Tyler said as though I were retarded not to notice.
"We told them we'd wake you. We were a little distracted with dressing and all though that we kind of forgot about you," Damon admitted shyly.
"Idiots," I laughed back at them.
"Hey, at least we weren't going to be late. Hurry up and get your arse in the shower, Taylor!" Jason retorted in a light manner.
I took a deep sip of the coffee which ended up being more of a gulp. But, instead of stopping, I continued to drink the hot coffee down deeply. I watched their eyes focus on me with complete shock as I finished the mug's volume.
"Isn't that hot?" Tyler asked in complete and utter shock.
"Burning," I muttered, only now feeling the burn of the hot liquid. But, I tried not to show it. Instead, I stood from my seat and continued into the bathroom, leaving my best friends from school still in shock.
It took me about an hour to freshen myself up. I let the hot water of the shower wake me and my muscles up further before I quickly towel-dired my short brown hair. To speed things up, Tyler leant me his hair dryer.
"Dude, why do you have one of them?" Jason had asked in shock.
"Uhh... it's... it's Linda's," Tyler had lied in return. We all knew it wasn't Linda's. That was always his excuse for whenever we thought his stuff was girly - he'd claim it was his girlfriend's.
