Prologue

I never thought I'd ever be in a position where I'd have to choose between two people who are the most precious to me. It's funny how much influence someone can have over you, or how much control you can have over others.

On one hand, I have someone who has loved me without conditions. Who makes me feel alive again, gives me everything I always wanted and with whom I share my dreams and ambitions. While on the other hand I have someone I'd known all my life. Loving him has given me nothing but pain; someone who's my personal brand of drug and being with him will only destroy me further, no matter how tempting he may be.

I'd never thought in my two hundred and twenty nine years of existence that one day, I'll have to choose between two people who'll help me change the fate of the world forever. If I choose correctly, I can ensure that no one will have to stand in my place again; the future that we'd all dreamed of would be ours. But if I choose wrong, the entire world would burn.
