This is happening. The room is spinning. I feel like I can't breathe. Termination? Since when? I was always the golden child of the network!

Pass the Salt is my child, my metaphorical child. I can't not do the show. I'm going to lose everything!

"S-sir, I can do better! I can spice up the show! I can make it more exciting!!" I argued, trying to knock some sense into this bastard.

"Dean, I'm afraid I can't help you. Unless you come up with a completely new idea, your career is done. I suggest you doing some brainstorming."

God, I just wanted to slap his squirell-tail mustache off of his god damn face. Screw you, you self-righteous prick. I will come up with a brand-new idea.

And then it hit me.

"Sir! What about a Pass The Salt cooking competition! We all know that Chopped and Food Network Star are headed into the metaphorical toilet, no offense. A cooking show is just what the network needs!" I was bargaining for my life at this point.

"Winchester, you might just have a valid idea. And no offense taken, I personally hate Chopped.  If I give you this show, are you sure that you could keep it running? Could you actually gather competitors? Because I'm not going to spring for the reward money and network show as prizes for nothing." he said, and I could feel my hatred slowly disintegrate.

"Yes sir, I can. I have faith in this show and what it can bring for the network." I replied, really trying to sell it.

"Okay Winchester, I will give you this show. But just as an experiment. The second I see it not getting ratings, I'm shutting it and you down."

I nodded, and with a wave of his hand, Mr. Singer dismissed me.

This chance, it means the world to me. I won't be completely forgotten.

Things are looking up, Winchester.
