A few days later a large thunderstorm occurred. Sashiki was terrified of the thunder and being half cat she hated rain. Lei was in the kitchen cooking some dinner and Sashiki went down to her living room to watch TV. Lei wasn't scared at all he just stood cooking and whistling softly to himself. BOOM! Thunder cracked loudly and she ran over to lei and hugged him tightly. Lei was so confused,"what's wrong my love are you afraid of the thunder and lightning?" She didn't say anything she just hugged him and started to cry. Finally, she spoke,"being a Princess, I'm never with my father because he's always away for some treaties with other kingdoms." He sighed,"so your always alone with no one to help you. You don't need to worry,I'm here now." She let go of him and nodded. He knelt down on one knee and smiled Sashiki was very confused,"what are you doing get up" he stayed in that position and said,"Sashiki Love, I know this is quick. But I love you and I want you to be my wife, so will you marry me?" She started crying tears of joy. "Yes yes I will a thousand times yes!" He pulled out a beautiful topaz ring and put it on her finger. "amazing we will be so happy together my love!," he's said happily as he stood up to hug her."we need to tell everyone especially daddy!," she squealed in excitement. She ran to the king's room and burst through the door. "Daddy! Look!," she screamed and held out her hand to show the ring. The king smiled at her. His face lit up," so who was it my pretty little kitten?" Sashiki looked and him as if she was tired of him and the moved her eyes in Lei's direction to indicate that it was he who proposed to her. The king got up looking serious and went up to Lei. He stopped in front of Lei and his scowl turned into a bright smile. He hugged him tightly. "So you are the one who made her happy good job son! Almost all the men have tried to do what you did and failed.," the king said. Lei nodded then the king got his head real close to Lei's ear and whispered,"if you hurt my baby girl you will pay" Lei was very scared but he nodded in understanding. "Don't worry your highness I won't."

"Good boy!" He laughed in his old man laugh. He knew that Sashiki would be happy now. Thats all he wanted.
