(some language but the song is great)

"you won't be able to do it, Juliana."my best friend Skylar said to me as we sat on my bed. it was about two hours before we would have to leave for the fields for the start of many games.
"i promise you it will happen." i said, lifting myself of the bed and walking to the vanity.
"lets make a bet, you have until the end of the summer."
and just like that, everything started.

"you guys ready for tonight?" I asked the team as we sat in our pregame circle. we did this before every game, almost like our good luck superstition. as I looked around the circle,i noticed the nervous antics of each boy as we talked.

"you know it!" they all cheered in an attempt to shake the nerves. after that the boys started conversations amongst themselves and I turned to Tyler, who was right next to me.

"stop acting nervous Tyler, you're going to do fine." i joked around, giving him a little shove. he lifted his head up and looked at me, a small smile coming across his face.

"I'm seriously not that nervous, but thank you Juls." he countered and laughed, his eyes locked with mine.

"you always play with your hat when you're nervous, and you're doing it right now." i reached over and grabbed the hat out of his hand and placed it on my head.

"you look nice with the hat on." he said with a wink. my cheeks immediately began to turn a bright pink. it was that moment that I noticed the boys were staring at us, with smirks on their faces. of course my brother, Brock, was the one that started the teasing. I just stared at the boys, my hands playing with the two bracelets on my wrist.

"don't worry about them." he leaned over and whispered to me. i looked at him and gave him a comforting smile.

"it's fine, it really doesn't bother me." but the truth is, there was so much stuff Tyler didn't know about me, but at the same time, there was so much stuff I probably didn't know about him. Brock would always tell me that there were certain things he just could never tell me, but I never believed him. that's just how our friendship was. me and Tyler, well we were friends, really close friends. i had grown up with him my whole life. but it was then that something told me things were going to change this summer, whether it would be positive or negative, I wasn't sure.

as if on cue, Coach Hale began walking over towards the dugout, where we were waiting outside of it.

"i should probably go, but good luck guys! let's take home that win!" i smiled big at all of them, going around and hugging each boy.

"see you after the game." the boys shouted back as they walked into the dugout. however, one certain boy stayed behind. i looked right up at Tyler and laughed.

"get in the dugout Tyler, you're gonna do great. i love you" i smiled

"i love you too Juls." he hugged me again before heading into the dugout to meet up with the rest of the team. i walked away towards the bleachers to meet up with the other families and other siblings. however, as introductions went on, my mind kept replaying the conversation with Tyler... and the fact that time was running out.
