Chapter 1

one, two , three clear... All fades to black.

You know the saying, you don't know what you have, until it is gone. Well i'll tell you this much most of the time you do, you just thought you'd never lose it.

My life from when I was born to the age of 16, is probably the most cliche teenage life, that a 16 year old girl could live. Captain of the dance team, popular to the point where I had so many "friends" that I struggled to put a name with a face. My boyfriend was captain of the soccer team. It's like my life was planned out like some hollywood movie.

I just reach around 5'2".My brown natural sun kissed highlighted hair that reached my waist, hazel green eyes with thick black lashes, that make me look like I'm wearing mascara and eyeliner all the time. I inherited all from my mother as everyone tells me I am splitting(spitting as some people say) image of her.

So you see my life turned upside down at 8:36 pm on the 18th of December 2011. When my parents were announced dead at the scene of the accident. I was left unable to walk and with injuries so bad, I was put into a coma for three weeks.

How can your life go from plain perfect, to the most messed up life you could possibly imagine. As soon as something goes wrong, you realise just how fake all those luxuries are, if that's what they are even considered as because they don't matter anymore.

My brother Alex is probably the most important person in my life. He is who I live for now.

**************************

The day started out with my brother Alex, running into my room, to yell at me for the stunt I pulled on him, before I went to bed. "

Molly, what the hell did you do to my xbox games" I woke up to Alex staring down at me with a look that would probably kill someone if it could.

" Alex, get out of my room. NOW!" My voice coming out croaky hinting the fact I just woke up.

"What's going on in here, I heard yelling" My dad said as he barged into my room, with a panic filled expression, thinking something was wrong.

Calm down dad.

"Dad". Alex and I both yelled at the same time "tell him to get lost". "tell her to give me back my games". "Alex, out now" Dad pointed to the door as he lead Alex out of my room. I smiled smugly, that's what you get for messing with me.

"Molly". I cringed. Oh no, I spoke too soon. "Get up and give your brother back his games and don't forget we leave soon to go to Uncle Sam's house for lunch".

I rolled my eyes at him. Shit, I thought. I completely forgot about that. I made plans with Tessa, before I went to sleep last night. I quickly texted her, I was busy and if we could reschedule it for another day.

I jumped out of bed after I got a reply from Tessa. I ran into the bathroom, before Alex could beat me to it. I closed the door, as I saw him running down the corridor, with a victorious look on my face.

As I finished getting ready for our lunch with Uncle Sam, my dads younger brother and our only family. I went into my room to get Alex's games, to put them back before he tells on me again. I ran down into the car and we made our way to Uncle Sam's.

**************************

After our lunch with Uncle Sam, it was around 8:25 pm. As we headed down the driveway to leave to begin our drive back home.

I feel myself falling down, from a force called "ALEX" I screamed his name, as I fell to the ground. " Would you two try to get along" Mum rolled her eyes at us, as she pulled me up. " He's such a little brat mum".

Glaring at him with my arms folded over my chest. " He's such a brat" he mimicked me, with a high pitched girl impression.

I groan at him and walked away to get into the car. I was singing in the car, when I felt something yanking my hair. "Ouch, Dad tell Alex to stop it". "Alex, stop pulling Molly's hair"

Dad said, as he turned his head for the last time, before a blinding light came straight towards our car. My mothers spine shivering scream filled our ears, as our car was pushed into a pole, then wrapped itself around the pole.

My eyes shut tight as everything around me starting to fade to black.

I felt Alex squeeze my hand, I squeezed back to let him know I was alright.

The last thing I remember was being pulled out of the car and my name being called by a familiar voice that I just couldn't figure out who it belonged to.

"one, two, three clear" and that was it.

**************************

BEEP... BEEP...

"ughh" what is that sound and why does my head hurt so much. Why can't I remember anything from last night. I thought to myself. In a panic, I tried to get up. Only to squeal from the pain of the movement.

I opened my eyes to see a white room. Where am I?Why does my whole body ache? Why can't I get up? Am I hungover? That must be it! but where am I?

I look around and notice all the machines around me. What the heck am I doing in hospital. I scream. My voice hurts.

I look to the door and see two nurses rush in, they press the red button behind my door.

The beeping is getting faster. Is that my heart beating. "Hunny, I need you to relax". What is going on. "Come on, you can do it" "MUM. DAD" I cry.

The nurse looks at me with pity. Where is everyone. She hands me a cup of water. I drink it up, as my throat is dry.

" Dear, do you remember anything" she looks at me with hopeful eyes.

"What's your name". "M... Mo..Molly" I choke out. "When's your birthday" "16th of June 1994".

A doctor walks in with a clipboard in his hand. "Why am I here? Where are my parents? Where is Alex?". I let out in one big breath.

That's when I got the news of all that happened three weeks ago.

**************************

My parents were gone. Alex was alive but wouldn't talk to anyone but me. I lost my ability to walk. I have Chronic pain in my back.

I had no family to go to. Uncle Sam is not fit to be our carer due to his new found alcoholic behaivours.

My friend's were no longer my friends as they couldn't bare to see me the way I was.

I hated it.

The next few days were the worst. Hell. I remember waking up and screaming from the pain in my back as my medicine wore off, screaming for someone to come and take me away. To end my life.

Having to attend a funeral for two people that meant more than life itself to you in one day.

I became a zombie. Blocking out all my emotions. With no one to support me, all I got were pitiful looks.

My mind was else where.

My body constantly aching, but the hole in my heart was far more extreme than the aching of my body.

Rehabilitation was almost everyday for six months straight, I learnt to walk all over again.

Alex is only talking to me but he is getting help. He blames himself for it all.

Losing almost everything, all in one night.

My therapist she is the only one keeping me sane. She wants to help us. Next week we go to court, to see if she can get custody of Alex and I, until I'm eighteen.
