A loud knock startled me awake as it resounded through my apartment. I sighed and pushed back my hair as I swung my feet over the side of the bed. I threw on a sweatshirt and flannel pants over my t shirt and padded over to the door. Another knock rang through the house and I opened the door expecting to see a delivery man or something along those lines. There wasn't anybody.

I looked all around and I didn't see anything besides a bouquet of red roses lying on the front stoop. I picked them up gingerly and I could smell the beautiful scent. I brought them inside and looked around once more before hesitantly shutting the door. I sat down on the couch and admired the gorgeous flowers, and I noticed a crisp white tag attached to one of the stems. I hurriedly scanned it and was surprised.

To: Verity

Have a beautiful day, love

From: Harry xx

I was startled and began to wonder how he got my address and how he even remembered me. The last time I had seen him was weeks ago. I could admit he was absolutely gorgeous but I didn't know a single thing about him. I grabbed my phone from the side table and opened up Safari. I typed in "Harry Styles" and over seven billion hits popped up.

"Former member of British boy band is reported missing"

"British heartthrob Harry is no where to be found!"

"One Direction band mates grieve as hope for finding Harry Styles is crushed"

"Harry Styles found dead"

I gasped; he wasn't dead! I had just seen him weeks ago! I checked the date on the last headline which was four months ago. I raced to my room ad threw on some more appropriate clothes and stormed out of my apartment. He had a lot of explaining to do.

I furiously searched around town for him. I didn't know why I was so mad but I felt like I had been betrayed. There he was telling me that I was sad and shit when he is supposed to be dead! I quickened my pace when I spotted a familiar pea coat and a misarray of chocolate curls. I ran to catch up to him at the end of the sidewalk and when he got to speaking distance I grabbed his shoulder. He whipped around with a scowl and then a slow smile spread across his face as he teased, "How'd you like the flowers, love?"

I held up my phone displaying the various headlines and the smile dropped from his face. He looped his arm around my waist and pulled me into a deserted side street. He pushed me against the damp brick and locked his arms in place beside my head.

"I know you have questions.." He began while sighing, "..but I can't answer many."

(AN) sorry it's short but...oh whale
