Percy's POV
"Mom, I'm going to school," I yelled to my mother.
"Okay -- try not to blow up anything this year!" She called back.
I had mixed feelings about this year. It was the first time I've ever gone to a school for two years, but it felt like something was going to happen that had to do with godly intervention.
I drove to school and picked up my schedule, looking for my mortal friends. After much searching, I finally found Kylie, Johnny, Marisa, and the rest. They tried to not pry too much, but they knew something happened during the summer. And that it was big.
The loud speakers said, "Everyone, come to the auditorium immediately," which was weird. The principal sounded nervous .. did the gods do something? What did they do? Great.
I walked with my mortal friends and sat down in one of the semi-comfortable seats. The principal was holding a book -- I couldn't read what it said, partly because of the dyslexia, partly because it was too far away.
Then I felt a godly presence- well, really 14 godly presences. The Olympians, Hestia, and Hades. I covered my face with my hands and groaned loudly, ignoring the strange looks - I was in the first row and the only one making any noises besides whispers.
"What are you DOING HERE?" I yelled, forgetting about what it would look like.
Apollo replied, "We're here to read about YOU! Don't worry, Annabeth, Nico, and Thalia will be here soon."
My dad chimed in, "We will be reading from the very beginning. By the way, the mortals will probably need an explanation."
I climbed on the stage and turned to the stunned student body and teachers. Who has heard of the Greek Gods? " some hands came up. "Well, all of that is real. The gods are behind me, the monsters hunt me, and demigods go through so much. I, by the way, am a demigod." I turned back to the gods. "Just summon them already."
Athena, Hades, and Zeus snapped their fingers and Annabeth, Nico, and Thalia appeared, landing in a pile.
"What the Hades!" Annabeth yelped. She saw me and muttered, "Of course it has to do with Percy." After assorted bits of grumbling from Nico and Thalia, they all got up and regained their bearings.
"Come on. Apparently we are going to have to read a book about me," I said to the three upset demigods. To the gods I said, "Can you at least change the language of the book to Greek if we," cue hand motions to the demigods, "have to read?"
"Of course!" Said Aphrodite. "We'll be watching from Olympus, and I'll be watching all of the Percabeth parts!" The last part was squealed.
"Percabeth?" Someone called out from the crowd.
"What Aphrodite and her children call Percy and me together," said Annabeth.
With that, the gods did their super-fast air-travel thingy, and left us to start reading.
"I'll read first," I said. The principal gave the book to me, still too surprised for words. I guess if I was in her place, I would be acting the same way. Finding out that Greek Gods exist is one mind-blower. "It says... Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 1 The Lightning Thief."
"There are more of them? Do we really have to read lots of books about my little cousin?" groaned Thalia.
"You know, to all looks and appearances, I am older." I said.
"Did you know that I am older, technically? I am supposed to be in my eighties," said Nico, Annabeth trying not to laugh next to him.
"Percy, start reading," said Annabeth.
"Okay, okay. First chapter- I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-algebra Teacher."
