I had walked outside, my emerald green eyes shining. My mother let go of my hand and she smiled at me. My gaze swept over my family before i noticed something. Something in my Father's eyes. Fear. Pure and utter fear.
I looked over at my Mother. The same look. She looked over at my Father and she swept me into her arms. "into the hou-" she stated loudly but was suddenly cut off. Something black whizzed past me. I let out a terrified shriek.
Nick and my father raced over to us, but then i saw Nick fall. His pure white wings fanned out around him as he fell on his back. My mother screamed in horror and tried getting to Nick, but he was suddenly...gone.
Tears streamed down my rosy red cheeks. What was going on?! Why was this happened?! Suddenly, i fell onto the ground. "MOMMY!" i wailed, looking around for her. No where. She was gone too, like Nick. I looked at my father who had shifted to a jaguar. He snarled loudly at the air. What was he growling at?!
I quickly ran over to him, clutching his sleek black fur. "daddy...whats going on?" i whispered in a scared toddler voice. He didn't respond, and then he was wrenched from my grip. HIs fur slipped through my small hands and he was gone. "NO! DADDY, MOMMY, NICK!" i screamed, looking around. My eyes were blurry with tears, but i did catch a glimpse of something. Well, two things. When was a bluejay on a branch, tweeting casually as it...watched me. Literally watched me, with it's beady black eyes. It chirped and flew away. The other thing i saw was something i would never forget. A large, black creature running to me before hitting me sharply in the head. I fell to the ground with a soft thud as unconciousness enveloped me in it's comforting darkness.

Wake up, my family! I have important news! Well, not really...Nick, don't struggle! It will only hurt you more!
My eyes slowly opened and i whimpered softly. What was going on? Who had just been talking? I looked around as my vision cleared, but my head was still pounding. I noticed Mom, Dad, and Nick. They were hanging on a wall by old fashioned prison chains, their arms up and their bodies hanging limply. I was scared for a moment, but then i noticed them blinking, their chests heaving up and down. I continued to look around. We were in a small gray room. There was a door made of steel, a cobblestone floor and cement walls. How apealing. In the center of the room was a sinister looking man, a smirk lacing his lips. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a black v-neck shirt. His black hair was long, to about his shoulders, and mangy looking. He had cold, dead black eyes which only mirrored my sudden hate. Yeah, i was only 6, but i still knew how to hate!
"ello there!" he said in a terribly phony british accent. I noticed Nick roll his eyes and shake his chains.
"let us go!" he shouted angrily, as angry as an 8 year old could get. The man just simply shook his head and laughed...well, cackled to be exact.
He went up to Nick and shook his head, looking humored. "silly, silly Nick. I told you not to shake the chains, didn't I? It will only hurt you more!" i did notice something. A dark red liquid dripped down Nick's arms from his wrists, going down his body and eventually splashing down onto the floor. I whimpered loudly as i realized it was blood.
The man plucked a feather from Nick's wings and twirled it around in his hands. "ah, what a fine young angel you have turned out to be! I mean, your wings will still need to grow, considering you have some nasty plummage, but you will grow" he said with a shrug.
Nick merely narrowed his eyes at the man. The sinister looking man then waltzed over to me. "ah, and little Maggie!" he said with a false smile. "how is your shape shifting doing? I think it's your birthday today, hm? Well then, happy birthday! I am so sorry i had to rain on your 'parade', as people call it" he said, patting my cheek.
"YOU GET AWAY FROM HER!" my father finally shouting, eyes narrowed. He looked like he was ready to charge at the man....but then he shocked me at his next words.
"ah, brother, no need to be so hostile!" The man hissed. So, this man was my....uncle?! "Scar, i had EVER RIGHT to be hostile" my father spat as the man, aparantly named Scar, (oh, how cliche! Well, he did have a big scar over his cheek after all) walked over to him.
Scar shrugged casually, then looked at my mother. "Claire, still beautiful as ever i see!" he said, but my mother remained un responsive. Scar just sighed and clapped his hands. A beast stepped in, the same thing that had attacked me before we came...here. It was large, black and had odd markings all over it's body. It held a knfe in it's deformed hands, which was handed over delicately to Scar. "good, thank you" Scar said to the beast with no emotion. The beast nodded and quickly ran off.
"that was a shadow beast. Marvelous creatures" Scar said to the four of us with a smirk. He moved to my mother again. "you should have been mine" he whispered in her ear, just loud enough for me to hear. My mother shivered in fear and before anyone could say a work....Scar thrust a knife through her chest. My mother's scream rang out through the room. It was a shrill and short scream i would never forget.
"MOMMY!!!" i cried, while Nick and my father just stared at Mother's limp body, scared and shaking.
Scar chuckled and then went over to my father. "your turn, brother" he said with a sinister smirk. He drove the knife through my father's chest, blood from my mother and father now staining the cobblestone floor. I shook in the chains, and Scar smirked at us before leaving the room. What...what had just happened?!?!
