Chapter 4

The week was going pretty fast it’s not Thursday lunch time but it feels like it’s still Tuesday, we had more test and loads of homework, just enough to keep my mind busy from thinking about Everett. He has been taking over my mind for the past few days! He’s only spoken to me once, and that was last week! I haven’t heard off of him I haven’t seen him, so much for the ‘I’ll see you later’ what is later? Never? I couldn’t talk to Leah about it so I decided to go to Louisa, who was currently sat in the library with me waiting for Leah to get out of detention.

“Lou, can I talk to you about something?”

“Yeah sure” She looks up from her book with worried eyes.

“Have I told you about what happened last Monday?”

“Noo..? Oh wait that Everett Carter talked to you?” My mouth dropped.

“How did you know about that?!” I couldn’t remember talking to her about it! She wasn’t even here the first week!

“Oh Josie, the whole of the school knows it, it’s not every day Everett talks to a girl nicely, let alone a girl from a younger year!”

“But..?”

“You haven’t heard what people are saying?”

“No?”

“Well Sally had a massive piss fit over it saying..”

“..Sally?”

“Yeah? The blonde Barbie? Year above? Says she has some sort of relationship going on with him?”

“Oh the slut!” That’s her name! I know I began with an ‘S’

“What?” Louisa looked interested at the same time she was trying not to wet herself from my statement.

“Oh, on Monday at the end of break she found me and told me to stay away from ‘her man’ I had no clue what she was on about?”

“oh my god, why didn’t you tell me?” She looked kind of scared at the idea that ‘Sally’ had spoken to me.

“You weren’t there and I didn’t think it was too big of deal because I didn’t have a clue about what she was saying?”

“But this is Sally Williams… The Sally Williams”

“Who?”

“Remember the girl that had to move school because Sally bullied her so much? Sally only bullied her for sitting in ‘her’ seat in the lunch hall..”

“Elisabeth? Wasn’t she the girl that moved, I thought it was because she moved house?”

“Seriously…. You don’t know anything that happens at this school!”

“No, I do… I just don’t care!”

“Anyway back to the whole Everett thing?”

“I was going through my locker and he turned up behind me, we talked and then the bell went… and when everyone came out he said….”

“…See you later Jodie.. I know like I said the whole school knows about it, he didn't even get you're name right…and..?”

“He said ‘see you later’ what does that even mean? I haven’t ‘seen’ him in two weeks?” I know sounded like an overly attached girlfriend.

“A bit obsessed Josie?” She joked, but I could tell she know what I was talking about. “You want to know where he is don’t you.”

“No I want to know what he means about ‘see you later’ because in my books that means ‘we should meet up sometime’”
