That Cat

That ludicrous cat was back the other day.

Prowling around as if it had something to say.

It came up to me wearing a devious smile,

And sat there staring for quite a while.

When I asked Miss Clancy if she'd seen this beast,

she said I was probably going to be its next feast.

What a ludicrous woman,

She's just like the cat.

That crafty, scheming,

Underhand cat.

Now, as I look out the window,

Right now as I write,

I'm faced with the most sickening sight.

Out on the pavement,

Rubbing at a shoe,

Is that wretched cat,

Purring at you!
