What's Wrong With Hatty? - Part 3

You sat in your prison cell, thinking about things. "Why am I here?" You thought. "What did I do wrong?" You questioned. After thinking about other things, you then remembered Hatty.. "Hatty wouldn't betray us..." You said out loud. "He gave everyone flowers and presents this morning.." You remembered. Flashbacks of what happened with Hatty and the hat kept playing in your head, over and over again. Tears started to slide down your cheeks. You were worried about Hatty. "I hope he's ok." You said. You then yawned and got into your bunk bed. You shared a cell with your best friend, f/n. You fell asleep.

You woke up the next morning to the sound of someone's voice. You looked at the bars of your cell and saw a giant, orange cat wearing a security guard outfit. "Finally, you're awake." He said. You got out of bed and walked up to him and gave him a grumpy look. "You have to preform." The cat said. "Preform?" You wondered. The cat guard got out his keys and unlocked your cell. You walked through the halls of the theater, looking at it. You came into this room, a cat guard was there. "I hope you preform better than that last prisoner." He said. "Wait, what!? PRISONER?" You said. "Just get out there and preform." The cat guard said. "Fine." You replied. You opened the door and nervously walked onstage. There was a big crowd of cats, watching you. They applauded. You then looked at what was on the stage. There were platforms everywhere. You then heard a familiar voice come on the intercom. You smiled in joy. It was Hatty! "All you have to do is grab the gems and you're free to go!" He said. "Wait what?" You said. "Grab the gems and I'll be free to go?" You said. "That isn't something Hatty would say..." You said. You got on the platforms and grabbed the gems, avoiding the cat guards and water. You couldn't swim. You then headed for the exit and ended up in another room. You heard the distant sound of the cats clapping and cheering. You were confused. "Why do I have to preform?" You questioned. "And what's with Hatty? Why is he acting like this?" You said. You sighed and let the cat guards escort you back to your cell. Your best friend was there. "You made it out alive? That's amazing!" They said. You chuckled and said, "Yeah, I did!" You sat down on your bed, your friend sitting down next to you. "Don't you think something's wrong with Hatty?" They questioned. "Yeah.. This isn't like him." You said. Your friend agreed with you. A few minutes later a cat guard showed up. "The boss wants to see you." He said. You perked your head up and tilted it in curiousity. "Ok.." You said. You wondered who their boss was. The cat guard unlocked your cell and escorted to a door. You never seen this door before. The cat guard knocked on the door and said. "She's here, boss." "Let her come in." You heard a voice say. It had a sense of familiarity to it. "Go in." The cat guard beckoned. You put your hand on the door handle and opened the door. Who you saw next surprised you. "Hatty!" You yelled. You ran up to him and hugged him, you were so happy to see him again. But instead of him hugging you back, he flinched and froze. You looked at him and there was a look of shock on his face, you noticed there were tears sliding down his cheeks. You wondered why Hatty wasn't hugging you back. He gently pushed you off of him and brushed himself off. He cleared his throat. "I want to congratulate you on your performance." He said. "Uh...Thanks." You said. You then decided to ask Hatty some questions. "Hatty why are you doing this?" You asked. He gave you a confused look. "I've always been doing this. This is my life!" He said as he gestured to the things surrounding him. You were getting confused and sad. "But, don't you remember the fun times we had? The adventures we went on?" You asked. "I don't recall such a thing." He replied. You were shocked! "But.... We're your friends! We miss you Hatty!" You said. Hatty gave you a serious look. "Stop it." He said. "Just tell me your name." He said. "My.... My name's Y/N." You said. You see Hatty put his fingers to his chin, as if he was thinking about something. You thought he looked cute while doing this. You blushed. "Y/N, that name sounds familiar, but oh well." He said. "Just please go back to your cell and get some rest. You have to preform tomorrow." He said. You nodded and went back to your jail cell. You sat down on your bed and felt heartbroken. "Hatty doesn't remember us..." You said. Tears fell down your face as you laid down, falling asleep later that day.
