"Huhu" I hear someone sobbing when Liz and I was half on our way out. "Waaaah" I was about to open the glass door of the shop but got frozen by the loud cry. I immediately turned around to see who's the source of that annoying voice.
It was a little boy sitting on the ground with a lady trying to stop him from crying even louder. I bet this lady is a worker of this shop basing on the clothes that she wore.
"Ash come on. We still have lots of things to do" Liz nag at me.
"Just a minute Liz" I approach the little boy and the lady."Hey, what happened here?" I ask the lady as the little boy keeps on crying.
"He wants to take some of the Reese's butter cups but he doesn't have money with him" the lady explains "I bet, this boy is lost" she said with a weary."Oh I see" as I nod convincingly. "Hey handsome. Why are you crying?" I ask the kid as I squat on the floor for me to be in the same level as of him.
"I...I want to e..eat.. some chocolates" he answered while sobbing and trying to stop himself from crying.
"But where's your mother? Or your parents?" I ask calmly as what would adult do when talking to a little child.
"I.. I.. I don't know.." The last words were prolonged then he cried even louder. Maybe because he remembers that he is no longer with his parents.
"Hey, shh..shh. Stop crying now. I'll buy you some chocolates and we'll going to find your parents, okay?" The little boy immediately stop from crying and look at me as if I was the chocolate. Swear, I can see stars from his eyes. "Come on let's get you some chocolates" I help the little boy get on his feet."Really?" then his eyes brighten even more.
"Yes, so choose three" As I said I guide the little boy to the shelves.
"Yeay!!!" he hurriedly run towards it and pick two packs of Reese's butter cups and one pack of Hershey's kisses. "I want all of these" he happily said.
"Are you sure with that?" I raised him an eyebrow with a questionable look.
"Ahh..." He hesitate and take a look on each packs that were hugged by him. When he is sure he jumps with joy. "Yes! Yes! Yes!"I don't know but this kiddo is too cute to be ignored and one thing is that, he reminds me of my nephew Mikey who I think is on the same age as him. After paying the chocolates I hold the boy's little hand and walk towards the door and saw Liz with a happy and can't believe look.
"Are you sure on what you are doing?" She said while arms cross.
"Yes,of course. I need to help this boy. He's also too cute to be ignored" I answered honestly.
"Okay..okay. But this is the last one okay? No more chocolate shopping, no more helping kids and no more getting lost. Okay!?" She point a finger on me. Assuring that I should agree with her.
"Yes mam!" I made a salute and straighten my back. With that, the child followed me and made his salute to Liz. The three of us end up laughing. We're on our way to the information booth to help announce a missing child and to look for its parents. The kid is already eating some of the chocolates that we bought earlier and he leaps from one foot to another. I guess he is too much happy that he forgets that he's lost.
