Renown

“Jake!?” I dashed to him turning his body facing up. He had cuts all over his body, his clothes ripped off and a dagger stabbed on his left leg.
“Oh no Jake…this is all my fault…” My eyes started to tear up but then he started moving slightly.
“Ugh...” He opened one of his eyes and looked at me.
“You’re ok…I’m glad…” He mumbled but I heard him clearly.
“Jake, who did this to you?”
“Don’t worry about that…you have to get away from here…” He stretched his hand but he passed out.
“Jake?!” I checked his pulse and he was alive. That was a relief for me but I wasn’t going to leave him. I could take him to the hospital and let him be taken to a ward, but, if those ears came back, they would take him to custody thanks to me.
“Come on Neko think! Wait!” I remembered there was a renown between my family. Though she was an acquaintance to me.
“I have to go with her…she lives now in the woods I believe…” I looked at Jake’s leg and got close.
“I’m so sorry…” I grabbed the dagger and pulled it out. He moved slightly and his face cringed a little bit. I grabbed an extra shirt that was in my bag and ripped a piece of cloth. I rapped it around the wound on his leg for it to stop the bleeding for now.
“It will be rubbish later but for now it will do…” I was supposed to go on my trainee schedule after school with my uncle but it seems like I can’t. That I miss that appointment doesn’t bother me but it worries me that my uncle will get worried of me. He was a great apprenticeship on teaching me but he didn’t had time usually so someone else had to take over. He had to make surveys and see how to make the store better.
I carried Jake on my back but fell right away.
“God you are heavy…” I grabbed a rope that was on the ground and pulled him by tying that rope around his waist and tying the other side of it on mine. It was easier.
I eventually got to the person’s house. It was kind of creepy to be honest. I knocked the door and waited, I untied Jake and me from the rope until the door was opened.
“Greetings youngster” She was like a 4,9 feet tall lady that was around her 60’s.
“H-Hello!” Was this some sort of prank?!
“Hmm…guess that fight was pretty intense after all…” She gave a weird look at Jake so I just hugged him while I was scared.
“No need to be scared child…the answers you seek will soon be reveled” She chuckled when she noticed I feared her.
“W-What answers? I’m sorry but I’m baffled right now”
“Never mind my words…please, come in. We should check the boy you have around your arms”
“Y-Yes please!” She opened the door completely open like if she was telling me to take him inside…and so I did.
