Chapter 3:
The Prince of Nicrom
Alice blinked at her friend, once, twice, three times. She opened her mouth only to close it again, the brunette was at a lost for words. It was comments like these that people normally didn't have an answer to.
"Alice...?" Elizabeth asked worried. "Are you okay?"
The swords women didn't move, in fact she didn't even blink anymore. Alice couldn't help but stare at her friend continuously.
Elizabeth bit her lip, "You know. Just because of this doesn't mean I love you any less, you'll still be mine one day."
This comment snapped Alice out of whatever trance she was in a moment before, she shook her head back and forth quickly as if the chase away the confusion that had settled. At long last she had found her voice. "Um.... It's not that Elizabeth..... I just wasn't expecting you to say that."
"Oh," the Princess sighed in relief. "I thought you would feel bad or something and not love me any more, I wouldn't be able to live if that happened."
Alice chuckled, "It's so like you to think like that."
Suddenly a blush appeared on the heir to Alizar's face, the Princess swooned. "Gosh Alice, you really look handsome now, I can't get over that husky voice of yours. It's like you're a whole other person."
Alice shifted uncomfotably, it was bad enough getting this reaction from girls everywhere but from you're best friend? Now that was just awkward, "Well. A lot has happened in the last half year..."
"Sure has," Elizabeth murmured.
Alice sighed and began to examined her surroundings, the room provided was incredibly large, even bigger than the Princess's old room which was surprising. This room though, unlike the other one back in Alizar was more dark. Not evil and depressing but dark wood, deep blue cloth, thick drapes, the furniture was a dark green silky Victorian design of some sort with complicated swirls stitched into the material. Black lace and string were at the ends of almost everything, the drapes, the table cloth, the blankets. For some reason the room reminded Alice of dark chocolate, silky, dark, and smooth but beautiful in it's own way.
Alice walked over to a shabby looking bed at the corner of the room, at first glance you wouldn't notice the bed so it was obviously for Alice. While her bed was practically invisible and blended with the scenery of the room, Elizabeth's bed suited the room but wasn't hidden. It had the same dark hues as the rest of the room but the bed was grand and large, it was probably the first thing you would set eyes on when you entered the room.
Alice noticed her bags were already under the bed, she sighed and pulled them close, she opened the one at the very end and pulled out a practicing sword. It's edges dulled, it would hurt to be hit by it but it was doubtful that it could inflict and injury.
Hooking the sword to her belt Alice stood up and saw that Elizabeth was admiring the decor.
"Well..." Alice said. "Elizabeth, I'm going to go to the training grounds for some practice."
The Princess glanced back at her, "Oh. Can I come with you?"
"Of course."
At that moment there was a knock at the door, crossing across the room Alice opened it and saw a young butler who looked up at Alice startled. He was intimidated by her size and look.
