The Day Before the Dark Returned

Was all I heard.
Was all I felt.
I never liked to deliver bad news, but I could do it. Today it was different though, today this bad news affected me and the people I love and care the most about, well the ones who I haven't been ripped away from.

Was all I knew, until I reached the star room. When I stepped though that door every thing hit me like a train.
We're going away from this game. Far far away, to some where worse. The last people who came back from it were shaking and sputtering, on the verge of insanity.
So let me explain. I am in one out of 24 groups sent, each year , to go into an area where the most dangerous criminals were sent 100 years ago. Our job is to evaluate what is happening there. I have been training for six months now, they say it will help me survive. But every one knows no matter how much training you've had it won't help you. You still end up insane or dead. And my group, my family, that I've spent months bonding with, we're going there.
I look up at the stars and think of ways to tell them, but before I have found a normal way to tell them they all barge in.
"Hey star!" Faith shouts skipping to me, " sarge said you had some great news to tell us."
"Hey guys." I say looking down then back up at my friends.
"Well what is it," Charlie says tripping on a shoelace.
"Yeah the clutz wants to know," Harley says pushing Charlie a little.
"Knock it off and let her speak," scarlet walks in staring at the two boys.
"Well,we're going on a little vacation that no one comes back from." And no sooner than I said it, men wearing black outfits busted in with tranquilizer guns.
"Don't move, the doctor will be here soon to get you ready for departure" an automated voice said.
Five of the men slowly approached us. I looked at my friends.
Can I? I pleaded though my eyes.
And they nodded.
One of the men approached me and grabbed one of my wrist.
Action, I smiled.
And jarred my elbow hard into his nose. Spinning around I reached up for another hit. But before I could my legs gave way and I hit the floor reveling a dart in my leg. The corners of my vision started to go black,then the darkness consumed me.
