The pain was throbbing in his neck like a fury of punches directed at it. He saw the blood bleeding out creating paths of red going all down his neck.
Inside Dereck didn't feel whole he felt like the bite had taken something out of him. His eyes were stinging and his nose was full of the scent of blood. As he looked around him he realised the werewolf had gone. With a sigh of relief he covered the wound with his right hand and applied pressure.
It stang like a million wasp stings at once, but he pulled through. He had a weird new instinct telling him too, one he had never had before. There was nothing around him he could use to heal it, he reached out one arm and slowly massaged the cut with his finger. It felt like two puncture wounds going deep into his neck both oozing blood.
As he withdrew his hand he realized he had been uncuffed from the bed and there was only a pressure mark where the cuff had been. Without thinking he sprang up and sprinted to the end of the building where he found a wooden door with a rusted brass handle as if it had survived everything the earth threw at it. He opened the door and sprinted out so fast he didn't realize the person following him.
When he got home he applied a bandage to his cut and swallowed some pain killers to weaken the sting. He then locked every window and door so nobody could get in, he left the family room unlocked, he couldn't bear the thougt of going in.
About an hour later David was staring at his wall slowly moving his eyes following a spider analysing every move it made. He was still in shock so made himself some tea but spilt it everywhere from non-stop shaking. He didn't dare call the police, or even the neighbours, he had heard the home phone ring and asumed it was another friendly local wondering if everyone's well. He felt like answering and saying 'does lying on the floor dead count as well' before bursting into tears.
His thoughts froze as he heard a knock on the door and a deep harsh, gritty voice call, 'let me in', David froze completely, he didn't know what to do. The voice called again, 'Last chance before I kick your door in',this time his voice was harsher than last time, and more impatient.
David ran to his kitchen grabbed the sharpest knife he could and went to the front door. He waited for what felt like an hour, finally he opened the door,'well hello', the man was tall, very tall and was wearing an immaculate tuxedo. David watched as he reached his right gloved hand into his pocket and produced a knife. David felt the colour drain from his face before sprinting upstairs only turning once to see the man step into the house with a sharp tooth grin.
