Completing Her Stamps.
Prologue.
Her eyes brimmed with tears as she looked at the dark, wooden casket that was placed right before her. Sniffles and sobs echoed around from everywhere but she told herself strictly she wouldn’t mourn. She had to be stronger than that. Loss and grieve were both easily-emulsified emotions, and she couldn’t risk them clouding over her. It was too great a risk. Life is meant to break you; to tear you apart from the inside, it’s a challenge that you need to win and face. The more you fight it, the more you can boast to people about you’re self-control and restraint, Pres. Her sisters’ words echoed in her mind. Her head throbbed and her body was numb. She looked at her sister again, for the last time. Her beautiful brown hair spread in waves around her head, her lips were parted slightly and she was dressed in a beautiful white corset gown that flowed down a little below her dainty feet. Her skin was pale but she had always been pale, didn’t she? But, this time it was different, she always had a little tint of pink on her lips and cheeks, but now she was drained of color. Her once beautiful blue eyes were now closed, and were to stay closed.
‘’Kelly, she was my life. She helped me through rough times. I was going to propose to her soon, made reservations. Had everything planned? But now..’’ Drae stopped mid-way, his voice breaking and his bottom lip trembling. It was hard for him, this. Kelly had been the love of his life. Sadness radiated of off him. He looked at his long gone lover. He sniffled and moved towards her, he pulled out the ring he had bought for her. He whispered three words to her that everybody could make out as ‘I love you’. And gently, he lifted her hand up, sliding the ring in her finger. He kissed her forehead and slumped down on his chair next to his sister who soothed him. Exhaling deeply, Prestel stood up, straightening her black dress in the way, she advanced to the small wooden podium that had been set up beside the coffin. Looking around her, at the people who were dressed in black, ladies in black hats with handkerchiefs in their hands by which they constantly wiped they’re noses and dapped they’re eyes.
‘’Kelly was my sister, I couldn’t ask for better. She was still young, she always wanted to get married and have kids with whom she would run around in the house, she told me that all the time.’’ Saying those words, she looked at Drae, who looked like a ghost. Emotionless. Continuing with her words, she composed herself. ‘’I wish she could have experienced these wants, she was beautiful and deserved the best anything could offer. For all of you here, this is hard, I know. It’s hard for me too, Kelly was a type of person that you could easily get attached too. She was a person I always wanted to be, my idol. She will be missed, indeed. Goodbye, and thank you all, for coming here.’’ She smiled slightly and then advanced to her sister. She bit her lower lip and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
‘’Goodbye.’’
2 years later.
Prestel cleaned up her sisters’ room. Packing away all the stuff into cardboard boxes, she straightened her back and wiped a bead of sweat of off her brow with the back of her hand.
‘’Almost done, Pressy.’’ She told herself. She bent down too pick up all the old pictures off the floor. As she straightened up again, her eyes fell on a bump upon the floorboard under Kellys’ bed. Frowning, she crawled beneath the bed and pulled the curved plank. As the plank tore of off the floor, the jolt caused Prestel to jerk upwards, hitting her head on the hard bed carvings. She groaned and rubbed her aching head. Looking down, she saw an old, dusty diary. Prestel pulled a face. Kelly never kept a diary, she thought. Grasping the diary, she advanced her way out beneath the bed and on the nearby couch. She opened the diary and her eyes widened. In there were names of famous celebrities and their signatures. Flipping through the pages, she stopped at the last three pages.
Louis Tomlinson
Niall Horan
Zayn Malik
Harry Styles
Liam Payne
Cody Simpson
Rihanna
Justin Timberlake
Taylor Swift
Clarie Julien
These names were jotted down but the signatures weren’t present. Prestel bit her lip, saddening that her sister never got the chance to complete her ‘Celebrity Stamp Book.’ An idea popped in her head.
What if I complete it for her.
