Chapter one

It was 11:47 at night and my brother wasn’t home. We went to a party earlier, not a boring little kiddie’s party, a real teenage party where it was all about the dresses and the make-up and the kissing. I wore my super cute black and white zebra print ruffle dress because of the way it showed off my slim legs. My twin brother, Jaden, wore a suit jacket with skinny jeans and his favourite royal blue shirt. We both spent ages getting ready, Jaden gelling his hair and me straightening mine while applying mascara.

We left our house at about quarter to seven so that we would arrive for round about twenty past, fashionably late. Our friends were coming to meet us at the bus stop outside the local Tesco.

“Oh my god, Skye, you look amazing!” My friend, Mia, shrieked.

“Aw, thank you, you do too. I love the velvet here.” I said stroking the red velvet belt on her dress.

“Looking good, mate.” Jaden’s friend, Danny, joked. He switched into a silly imitation of us. “I love what you’ve done with your hair and, ooh, is that real cat’s fur?”

“Cat’s fur, Really Danny?” Brianna said with an eyebrow raised.

“Oh, shut up you.”

“Let’s just go, come on people’s!” Jaden said.

“Yeah, let’s party!” Harry screamed.

We laughed and joked all the way down to the club in the backstreets. When we got there the party really started. We all split off, the lads following Jaden, my girlies following me. We danced and strutted our stuff for hours.

There were a group of super-hot boys hanging round near us and watching us. A slow song began at about five to ten. The cutest, blondest, most blue-eyed boy in the group came over to me and held out his hand. I took it and we stood in the official slow dance position, my arms round his neck, his hands round my waist.

“What’s your name?” He asked me.

“Skye, you?”

“That’s a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” I smiled. He continued. “I’m Aiden. How old are you?”

“I’m thirteen.”

“Cool, I’m fourteen. Skye,” He looked into my eyes. “Will you be mine?”

“Yeah” I smiled. “Yeah, I will.”

We exchanged numbers etc. and we stayed together until eleven when we both eventually left the club, still in each other’s arms.

“Where do you live?” I asked him.

“Just down there. Where do you?”

“Right up the top. I’d better get going now. Aiden, call me.”

“OK.” We kissed one more time and eventually said goodbye. I daydreamed all the way back home until I literally walked into the front door and had to shuffle round in my bag for a key.

I only got back about ten minutes ago, I was daydreaming so much I lost track of time and spent ages walking back. It only just occurred to me that Jaden didn’t come back with me, so he was still at the club with his new girlfriend, Dionne, who was one of Aiden’s friends.

Suddenly, my phone started blaring with a picture of Aiden on the screen, meaning that he was calling.

“Hi, Aid –“ I started.
