Maddies POV

   I wake up in a white room. Pain fills my legs and my arms. My head hurts just as much.
My leg is elevated in a splint, while my head lays in the most uncomfortable pillow ever.
   Nobody else is here except for my mom sitting at the end of the bed.
   "Mom? What-" She quickly got up and I could finally see her face. Makeup was dripping everywhere. It almost looks like she was crying waterfalls of mascara.
   "Oh my god! Maddie you're awake!" She screams as she runs over to me in high heels, grabbing my head and kissing me everywhere.
   "Ugh mom stop!" I say, realizing my voice is hoarse.
   "Stay right here, i'm going to get the nurse." She rushes out of the room.
   "Well, I can't really go anywhere, so that isn't such a problem." What happened? Why is she so thrilled that i'm awake?
   Why was I even asleep in the first place?

Jacob's POV

   Maddie has been in a coma for about a week. When I showed up backstage she must have...gotten distracted or something because she fell and landed with her ankle turned almost half way around. She then slammed to the ground and hit her head on the floor. Outcold.
   We all ran out to her. Mackenzie on her hands and knees hugging her crying while Maddie's head drains with blood. I call 911 and explain everything.
   Ms. Abby said this was the worst injury in history at her school.
   And sadly the worst happened to the best.

Maddie's POV

Mom tells me everything while I drink a glass of water after taking a huge pill that scratched my throat on its way down to my stomach.
My ankle is broken badly and I cracked my head open.
I have to stay in the hospital for a while until I can stand up on my own.
I zone out until I hear the most depressing words come out of my mothers mouth.
"You won't be able to dance for along time..." She tears up as my heart shatters.

A/N
And again sorry for the extremely short chapter!! I'm really liking how this is going so far, idk about u but I like it. And trust me it gets better. Jacob might come in a lot soon. But as of right now he's almost like a bystander :(
