I wake with a start, in a cold sweat. Where am I? In a house? Whose? I look around. It's really very ordinary, just like the ones we had in the Kamchatka-Kuri. My stare drifts around the unimpressive room however it lingers on a boy, a boy with unruly hair. It's dark and I know it so well. My eyes go down to his face with piercing blue eyes. He grins at me. I jump out of bed in a rush to see. "Abram!" I yell. He hugs me so tightly I can barely breath. "What are you doing here?" My best friend's smile clouds over. "I couldn't bear the Kamchatka-Kuri. I hated it. We had no freedom, we never could go outside the village unless we were hunting so I left. I escaped one night and I'm never going back. What about you? Why did you leave?"
"Same reasons as you, I guess. Destined for the repetitive life of the village is not enough. I want to see outside the confining walls of the Tribe. I want to explore the entire Taiga." I smile, it dawns on me; I'm finally free. I'm no longer part of the Kamchatka-Kuri. I am free, a traveller. I roam the vegetation and explore the Taiga. "It's so good to see you, Myra. You've grown up so much!" Abram breaks the silence.
"I know! How long has it been since I last saw you?" I wonder out loud.
"One year and one hundred and thirty six days."
"You've been counting?" I say.
"Of course!" He exclaims, "God, Myra, I've been so lonely. Free, but lonely."
"Well, I'm here now. We can live here, together." I say happily and I embrace Abram.Kamchatka-Kuri ~ Russian tribe in the Kamchatka-Kurile forest
