Every year during Christmas time, Marcel and his family would go to their cousin's house to celebrate. They'd stay for a couple of days, then leave usually camping out in the living room at night. The whole family loved it, but Marcel loved it more, giving everyone homemade gifts and treats. He definitely had the holiday spirit. Marcel even bought dozens of tacky Holiday sweaters to match the rest of his nerdy clothes.
This year was especially going to be good because the Christmas party was going to be even bigger and better, so he got to bring a friend or two. He decided to bring his best friend, Niall. The drive would be around an hour long, so he'd finally have someone to keep him company besides his sister, Gemma.
When they got there, there were already dozens of people at his cousin's house. He barely even knew who half of them were; some were grandparents, some were cousins or half cousins and 7th removed cousins, or just friends of people. But they all knew who Marcel was because he was the Christmas spirit. They all greeted him merrily and gave him and his family hugs. He greeted everyone to his friend, and handed everyone the small homemade present he had made for everyone. Then he got the Santa hat of honor that he wore right away. Even after 30 minutes, he still hadn't said hi to everyone because the house was just so big.
"Hey Marc, I'm gonna go to the bathroom if I can find it," Niall said to Marcel after he was done talking to one of his grandparents. "That car ride was long."
"Good luck finding it, I don't even know!" Marcel said chuckling. Niall laughed and skipped down the hallway then disappeared to try and find a bathroom.
Marcel's POV:
After Niall left to try and find the bathroom, I walked into the family room that was empty to take a break from talking so many people. Don't get me wrong, it's fun and all, but even I have to take a break. So I walk into the family room where there's a grand piano, cracking my knuckles to get ready and play, but someone was already sitting on the piano bench. He sits there flipping through pages of sheet music until he notices I'm standing in the entrance.
"Um, hello," the boy says, looking at me with mysterious eyes. Beautiful, piercing bluish green eyes with a tiny ring of eye liner underneath them to make them stand out even more. His hair swoops down over his forehead just over his eyes, a beautiful dark chocolate brown color. He's simply beautiful, there's no way else to describe it. He's mysterious and I want to know him.
"Hi," I said in a cheery tone. I could tell he was lacking Christmas spirit the way he was sitting there slouched over, staring at me menacingly like I interrupted something.
"Who are you?" The boy asked me.
"Marcel, who might you be?" I asked him kindly then sat down next to him on the piano bench. He seemed hesitant at first, like he didn't want me to sit there.
"Louis," he said.
"Cool, I've never seen you before. You must be a friend of one of my cousins or something."
"I've never seen you before either," Louis said avoiding my gaze and began flipping through the sheet music.
"Do you play?" I asked Louis. He shrugged.
"I bet you do. Play a song," I said nudging him. I don't know if he was uncomfortable or nervous.
"What's with your glasses?" He asked, still not looking at me.
"What, these?" I asked wiggling the giant square rims. "I love them."
"Uh....."
"What's with your clothes?" I asked.
"What about my clothes?"
"They're all black."
"So? Atleast I don't look like a faggot."
I was really taken aback by that, but I decided that it was Christmas and that I shouldn't get angry on Christmas.
"Whats so wrong about being a faggot?" I said grinning at him. Louis' eyes widened.
"Um....nothing," he said uncomfortably. Before I could say anything else, Niall walks in.
"Marc, I've been looking for you! This house is the biggest one I've ever seen," he said walking into the family room.
"This your boyfriend or something?" Louis asked staring at Niall.
"No! Just my friend, what makes you think that?" I ask Louis. He shrugs.
Then someone walks in to tell us that dinner is ready.
"Christmas dinner is ready, boys!" She said to us, then left.
"Yes, food!" Niall said putting his arms in the air, then dashed off.
I chuckled and said, "Guess we better go before Niall eats all the food," I said getting up. Louis stay put though.
"I'm good," he said.
"....you sure?" I asked him. He just shrugged, still not giving me the slightest glance. So I left the beautiful, mysterious boy alone.
