I laid down looking up into the sky wondering when this pain will go away. I heard laughter and shrieks.
"Stop it Erick!" Emily shrieked and then ran off laughing
"Come back Emi!" Erick laughed and chased her around he caught up to her easily due to the fact that he's stronger, faster, and better than anyone in the pack because he is Alpha. He picked her up and twirled her around as she wrapped her legs around his waist as they both leaned in for a kiss.
I inhaled sharply it was like stab in my heart. Erick had rejected me two years ago due to the fact that he was in love with Emily. Anyone with eyes could see that they had pure love for each other something I could never have with Erick.
"Hey baby sis!" Daniel said
"Hey danny" I said softly as I still looked up at the sky avoiding eye contact
"Com'on Arlene have some fun everybody is out here having fun while you just lay here far from everyone" Daniel said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me up
"Leave. Me. Alone. Daniel." I said as I pulled back my arm
"Arlene please" Daniel begged me as he tried to get me to stand up
"No please go away" I said as I turned my back to him and just looked at the grass
"Okay fine whatever you want Arlene" He said as he backed away and left me to drown in myself pity
"Erick!" Emily laughed
"Emi!" Erick laughed too
"Bleh"

People said that Emily and Erick made a great couple and that they couldn't wait till Emily could take his place next to him as Alpha Female. What was so bad about me was I truly that ugly? Or maybe I was weak? I got up and made my way into the pack house but didn't make it very far because Emily threw a bucket of cold iced water
"Lighten up Arlene have fun!" Emily smiled at me
"Right" I said quietly and made my way inside to change. I looked at myself an ugly reflection I was, my hazel eyes were no match for Emily's clear blue eyes and my hair it was brown and just flat. While Emily's was blond white and wavy. I couldn't stand myself I was hideous.
"Arlene we have a pack meeting today to welcome the new pack so don't forget to show yourself up" Daniel yelled as he made his way out the door to attend to his Beta duties.

"As memebers of this pack you must all be well aware of my mate Emily" Erick said. I took a deep breath trying to hold myself together before I broke down infront of everybody. I was his mate not her...
"We are getting married" Erick said
