In the Vertigo Tarot deck, the central image for the Two of Swords is a sign attached edgewise to a wall. It looks like the sign over a pub or bistro entrance, but if the oddly legible text on it is any indication, it's actually a furniture store. The sign is shaped like a fat crescent moon.

In the background where the sky ought to be there is instead the gaze of a calm, single eye. That eye appears bisected by one of the swords of the card's suit as it falls from the heavens above.

If you find that juxtaposition disturbing, then you really don't want to look at the Nine of Swords.
