High School, Middle School, even Elementary School I was always the girl who sat quietly in the back of the room, or sat by myself at lunch and watched the popular squad giggle at the popular boys. I always felt like an outcast, but deep inside I really, really, wanted to be one of the girls in the popular squad. I knew I was gorgeous, I knew I was the perfect size to fit in, I knew I was probably smarter than most of those girls. So why couldn't I be in their squad? I always asked myself this question. Why? Why? Why?..."Briana, do you have your social studies book? You were required to bring them back today." It was Mr. Trussville. He was standing right in front of me with confusion on his face. I guess I was daydreaming, all the giggly girls were laughing like it was the funniest thing yet. "Um, Yes, Yes I do have it." I reached into my book bag and retrieved my social studies book. "Thank you Miss. Briana." As he walked to his desk to place it on the very top of all the other books, The bell had rung and we all started to leave the room. "Have a great summer! Remember to send post cards of the historic sites you all will be visiting this summer!" Just before I had made it to the door he called my name, "Briana! I have something for you!" I turned around and Mr. Trussville was reaching for a little box. "This is for you and all your hard work you've given me this year. This is a very powerful gift and I won't be needing this anymore but I believe it would do a great pleasure serving you. I thank you. I truly believe you will be quite successful in your future." "Thank you so much Mr. Trussville. Have a great historic summer to you too!"
Then I walked out of his classroom and headed straight for my locker, because I had just a few extra things I needed to clean out before I could leave. Right as I was closing my locker, Matthew Stringer was heading my way. I acted normal. I pretended not to notice as he was coming closer. "Hey." He said very cool. I looked at him and smiled, "Hey." I looked around to see if he was actually talking to me! Wait where's Angie? She the popular squads leader. "So I am having a end of the year party and I was wondering if you'd like to come." I had no idea what to say. " Um, sure I'd like that." He smiled his cute smile and said, "Party starts at Eight, and here's my number and just call me for directions, okay?" He was kind of blushing and so was I. "Okay, I'll call you later." I could really feel my face getting hot now. "Talk to you then." We both started walking separate ways and just as I was about to look back at him, he was still looking at me. Matthew has been my crush since 4th grade. He has never really noticed me until now. I have literally been waiting for this day forever!
