I sighed as I looked outside. The wind was blowing the leaves around right outside my trailer. Vicky sat at the door quietly, his ears perked. I smiled and grabbed his leash off the table.
"Do you wanna go for a walk?" I asked, standing up from the table.
Vicky nodded his head slightly and wagged his tail ever so slightly. I grabbed my coat and hooked his leash to his collar, then opened the door to my trailer.
"Alright, let's go. I still have about an hour before I have to get ready for the trick-or-treaters." I stepped out after Vicky then closed my door and started walking towards the end of town.
About 20 minutes into the walk Vicky stopped and looked off to the side and stopped mid-step. "Do you have all the candy you need?"
I looked to see what he was looking at and nodded, "Yeah, I got the rest of it yesterday."
He nodded then turned around and started towards the trailer. It took us less time to get home then it did to get to the store. Once we got back I set out the fire that would let people know I was out with candy and I put Vicky's seat out by the fire as well as my seat and I went inside to get us ready.
I opened the closet and pulled out a set of clothes then pulled out a costume I got for Vicky and some fur dye. "Okay, so you can wear either the cat costume or we can dowes you in black fur dye and you can be a skeleton."
Vicky glared at me for a moment then snorted. "Skeleton."
I grinned and put the cat costume in the closet then took the paint out. "You got it."
~~ Time Skip ~~ (don't hate me?)
Once I finished with Vicky's outfit I shapeshifted into a stereotypical werewolf and got dressed into my ripped clothes. After dressing I went to the kitchen and grabbed my candy then opened the door.
"Okay time to have some fun" I said excitedly.
"You're just like a kid..." Vicky shook his head in disappointment.
"Hey, I can be 58 and still act like a kid if I want." I said, matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, because you don't know how to adult well." Vicky says, smirking in a way only wolves and dogs can.
I smirked. "That is very true."
Vicky sighed and went to his chair to sit and wait for the trick-or-treating to start. I sat in my chair and set the candy bowl on the so I could start the fire. Once the fire was started I sat back and waited for the trick-or-treaters to show up. It only took the first about 10 minutes to show up and they were happy to see that a real 'monster' was participating in trick-or-treating this year. I was happy to show them some tricks and they were happy to see the tricks, but they had to move on and I got the feeling that the child's mother didn't like me all that much.
This went on for the next hour or so, but the parents all seemed to have varying degrees of opinions of me as some would happily shake my hand or thank me, but others would look at me with disgust or fear and drag their child or children away as soon as they got their candy. I was sitting out there for about two hours before I met my first non-human trick-or-treater, and he wasn't alone.
