Chapter 4

Lionkit laid down with her nose touching the rain. She let her eyes close as the rain grew heavier. She was awoken by a faint,soft voice. "Hello child." Lionkit jolted and shot up to see who had called her. "Who is it?!" Lionkit squeaked. The golden she-cat replied, "It's your mother, Lightsoul." "B-but you're dead....How?" Lionkit's head started spinning. "It's our destiny." Lightsoul's voice grew louder and louder. Lionkit was left alone. Then the world turned to dark. Blood started dripping all around her. She started to scream but it was nothing but silence. She tried to move but she couldn't. Finally, everything was still. She saw a figure come down to her. The figure stared at her harshly and growled. It was a jet black cat with blue eyes. Lionkit ran as fast as she could, but she had failed. The cat was on top of her. It snarled and bit her shoulder. She felt the pain. She got up with a jolt. Lionkit wasn't in the leader's den. "It's okay Lionkit." Lionkit turned her head around to see a tabby tom with a pure black head padding towards her. The tom simply continued,"Sorry, I'm Brairpaw, the future Rainclan Medicine cat." His voice was an extravagant purr as if he was an apprentice who just got their warrior name. "Well um-I.." "It's fine. I won't bite." He sat by Lionkit and smiled widely. Lionkit explained what had happened in her strange dream. Brairpaw looked at her astonished with his amber eyes widened. They looked each other in the eyes in awkward silence. "Sorry Lionkit. I will go tell Blackstrike." "It's quite fine actually. I was doing the same," Lionkit mewed. Brairpaw padded quickly to another part of the Medicine den. He spoke to the Medicine cat a little loudly. Then a ginger tom with black splotches walked in. "So Brairpaw told me that you might of had a vision of what may happen. I will see what Starclan will tell me tonight." This tom's voice was more bitter, but still calm. He had the padded towards the Leader's den like how Stripeheart had done to Lionkit. She sat there alone with Brairpaw looking at her with his large eyes.
Lionkit quickly looked back at Spottedkit who was pacing back. "Lionkit!" She called.
