I stared up at our new home; a large two story brick building. Covered in ivy, it was obvious that it hasn't been lived in for many years. We lived in Ohio, but my mother found a new and better job in California. We didn't have much money, so when my mom found the house for such a cheap price, she jumped on the chance and we were packed the next day.

"I'll get the boxes. Take your baby brother inside." My mother says, a large box in her arms. I nodded and got my 3 year old brother Felix out of his carseat. Taking him inside, I set him down on the carpet of his bedroom and set a few toys down for him to play with. As he played, I felt a cold chill down my spine. I brushed it off and continued to watch Felix play.

When dinner time came, we sat around the table eating our pizza. Looking at my mother, I noticed that there was something on her mind. She was stressed. Her usually upbeat and happy personality wasn't there that night.

"Earth to mom, come in!" I said, trying to cheer her up. She gave a small smile.

"I'm sorry, Lucy. I just have a lot on my mind right now." She said. I looked at her worringly for a few seconds before returning to my dinner.
