I awoke in that same room I was first in, meaning that man had found me. I sat up out of the bed and made my way off it. My attempt failed now what? Damn it I have no idea what to do.
"Well you can stay put because you decided to run away."
I turned to see kai standing in the doorway. He had a frustrated look on his face.
"Well sorry I dont know where I am and its only natural to run away from your kidnapper!!" I retorted back, my voice dripping in anger.
He crossed his arms and gave me a stern look, as if he was my father. How revolting. This guy just randomly kidnapped me and now looks at me as if I'm a child. I heaved a big sigh.
"Fine but please tell me why on earth you kidnapped my friends and I, and what is going on." I said and sat waiting for him to start talking.
"Well first off, I kidnapped you because you wouldnt have come willingly and I was running out of time, second you are now my partner or will be by tonight or so." He looked at me, " If I dont get you to be my partner by tonight I will suffer the consequences of the council and be exiled from my family."
I was shocked. Why would they exile him just for not finding a partner.
"What do you mean exile, what happens to you?" I asked.
His hands ball into fists, as if he was ready to hit something. " You are taken to the exodus forest, the most dangerous place a person could go." He stands and looks out the window.
"Any person from there is never seen or heard from again. They say you are dealt with by being forced to fight beasts and evil and in order to show your loyalty you must capture the crown of truth and find a woman who is the 'one'. "
My hands began to shake as one could only imagine the danger of the forest and what lurks in it. I stood and faced him. " I will be your partner on one condition, I have rights." I said to him.
He smiled, "don't worry you shall have rights and such, I'm not making you a slave."
After talking for a bit it was time to wash up and sleep.
Tomorrow would be the ceremony of bonds then the coronation of life as they call it.
I drifted to sleep in the bunk above him since I was too tired to find my own.
