In all honestly, I can't believe that eleven in the morning on a Saturday was the only time that Mr. Bauer was free to help me.
I am his final grade for this semester so you'd think he'd rearrange his plans and make time, but no he has a social life.
Then, my dumb ass thinking that it would be beneficial to get some exercise, had my driver let me out a few blocks away from Mr. Bauer's place. Mr. Bauer lives in Queens for crying out loud, I've been walking aimlessly for an hour.
Where's superman when you need him? I looked up at the sky and only saw a bird and a plane. No Super man in sight.
Looking down at my phone, I noticed the blinking red circle. Apparently I was where I needed to be.
Glancing up, I saw a modest complex. Climbing up the steps, I looked at the dial pad for Mr. Bauer's room. I mashed my finger on the 2B button a few times before yelling into the intercom, "buzz me in bitch! It's freezing out here!" I pressed the button a few more times before sitting on one of the steps. I tried to avoid the sketchy spot where it looked like someone spilled something, and the various places with chewed up gum flattened into the concrete.
Oh New York, New York, your lack of hygiene never fails to astonish me. I called my asshole of a tutor a few times and reached him voicemail every single time I called. My next best bet was to sit here and wait for someone to leave the building or go into it.
Mr. Bauer was a good tutor. He did his job well; I have been getting better graders ever since the first time we studied together. He's taught me a few exercises to keep focused and to help me memorize new things. And most of all, my GPA has improved greatly.
However, I didn't care for Mr. Bauer at all. He found me annoying and I found him annoying as well. We've come to an understanding that we're going to have to march it out until the end of the semester.
The semester ended in about a month. It seems like everything has gone by so fast. Halloween was a couple if weeks ago, and our Homecoming was only last week. Pretty soon, as in half a year so not very soon at all, I'll be a senior! And then I'll have to decide what i want to do for the rest if my life.
My eyes narrowed in on an older man approaching the building. I tried to look nonchalant as he took the steps one by one and unlocked the door. I bolted up and reached out to catch the door handle. I did a congratulatory dance in my head. It's not every day you successfully sneak into someone's apartment complex, well it wasn't an everyday thing for me at least.
Jogging, I flew up the stairs and landed on the second floor. I walked a little to the end of the corridor to 2B. I knocked a few times and called my stupid tutor a few times. Where the hell is the mofo at? Did he expect me to break into his apartment or something?
With that thought, i twisted the doorknob and shook my head when I heard a faint 'click'. What a dumbass. Who the hell keeps their door unlocked in New York? Even the people that live in the countryside of New York lock their damn doors.
"Mr. Bauer! I'm so pissed with you right now!" I locked the door behind me and ventured to the back of the apartment. There were two doors that were right across from each other. Now which one do I choose?
I went with the right door and banged loudly on it. "Get up! I'm here!" I knocked malignantly on the door some more before sitting down in front if the door.
To my absolute surprise, the door actually opened and I fell back. Kind of embarrassed, I sat up and scooted away from the door.
"Who the hell are you?" A very distressed young man stood at the opened door with no shirt on and clenched fists.
"Have you seen my tutor? I lost him." He stared at me with a blank expression. I batted my eyelashes at him and he continued to stare, I batted my eyelashes more forcefully and he continued to stare. Finally, I blinked dangerously fast and he stared at me before shaking his head at me and muttering 'so weird' to himself.
He went over to the door that was across from his and knocked very loudly on the door. "Bro, the book witch is here!" Audibly, I gasped and glared at the unnamed person. He walked back into his room and slammed the door closed.
I continued to sit on the floor until my tummy growled. "Oh tummy, I'm sorry," I got up and strolled to the kitchen intending to cause havoc.
Before slamming on any food that I could find, I decided to call my baby cakes. I hopped up on Mr. Bauer's kitchen counter and dialed Dylan's number.
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"I'm at the douchebag's place. He's not even up yet, it's completely aggravating."
"Eliza, how many times have I told you not to call him a douchebag? He's you tutor babe, be nice to him."
I pouted, "No."
"Stop pouting."
"What? How'd you know I was pouting?"
"I don't know you're behavior is predictable."
"It is not! I don't know what the hell you're talking about but I'm unpredictable. I take risks and surprise myself sometimes."
"Shit, I wasn't trying to offend you I was just saying that my the tone in your voice I can tell how you're feeling which affects your actions and what not. I don't know how to explain it but I just know how you act and behave."
"Dylan, do you miss me as much as I miss you?"
"No, I miss you way more. It feels like forever since I've seen you."
"Okay so you said you'd be back in December right? That's in a few weeks. And there's Thanksgiving. My family always goes to my grandparents' home but maybe I can fly out to Cali to see you."
"Sounds perfect. Oh there's a movie premiere the night after and I have tickets. Will you be my date?"
I bit back a grin. It's been a long time since I've been this happy. My last relationship was complete bullshit and I couldn't be happier that I'm in a relationship with such an amazing guy. Dylan was everything that I wanted and needed in a boyfriend. Ever since I listened to Psychotic Breakdown's first track on their very first CD, and heard Dylan's heart stopping voice, I've been attracted to him ever since.
It's so mind-blowing that we're together, and to think it all started with an erotic kiss on stage in front of thousands.
"Do you really have to ask? I know you know my answer pickle."
"Lizard, I know way more than you think I do."
"I'm going to let you think that. I have to go eat all of douch- um Mr. Bauer's food before he wakes up."
"Call me when you're done. Wait, I'm gonna call you after our show later."
"Alright. Bye baby."
"Bye lizard, and eat some bacon for me."
"Gotcha." I hung up the phone and hopped off the counter. I opened the small fridge and looked at the contents. Sausage and bacon, yummy.
"Wake up!" I yelled loudly while opening up the packages.
"Shut up Liz you're too loud." I froze, dropping the knife that I was using to open the package.
"Elaina?"
