Forest in Snow

(November 20th 2016)

Opening my eyes I find I'm laying in snow. Dark wooded trees are everywhere, snow stuck to some of the bark. The sky is dark slate in color, snow drifting slowly, ever so peacefully, down to the ground. Snow is everywhere.

And I'm loving it.

Pushing myself up, I dust the snow from my hair and just take it all in.

Snow. Quiet snow.

How beautiful is that? I mean, it's gotta be the greatest thing on Earth.

Snow.

But then the snow isn't quiet. There are footsteps. Not very loud, but not too quiet. I look to my left.

There he is again.

I blink, shifting the snow from my eyelashes but then he's gone.

Odd.

I get up, dust myself off, and walk left, where I saw him standing. I walk for a while, in the quiet snow. With the dark trees. With myself to think. Then there is water. The distinct smell and sound of water. A stream running through a break in the trees, with icy water tumbling over little river pebbles and such. How I love this strange place. Looking up I see that sky, the dark gray-blue sky that has always been so beautiful to me. There are hardly any clouds in sight, the ones to see are a lighter slate, but it still snows. Lovely.

"Hey."

I turned my head to see him, he was sitting next to me. As if he'd been there the whole time.

Am I really this blind?

"H-Hey"

I manage to form words, though not entirely whole, that would still be considered English.

I sit down next to him, pulling my legs up to my chest. He's looking at that stream.

"It's beautiful, huh."

I shrugged and muttered under my breath.

"Not as beautiful as you."

Note: After this I was kinda just sitting on my bed like 'wow did I really just-'

Good lord I'm a mess!

Well here goes the end of that one. Good night/day everyone.
