Enchanted Forest:
Before First Curse
The soft grave road crunched under Belle's white heels as she made her way down the road towards the nearest village to pick up more straw, her tan woven basket ready in hand. Her eyes wandered to the bright vibrant trees as her feet walked slowly forward, and the wind blew her colorful cloak against her thighs. Belle was surprised at Rumplestiltskin allowing her to leave, she suspected the golden toned dark one had grown fond of her, but Belle had known it was just out of pure loneliness. Surely if there was anyone else added into the equation, Belle wouldn't have caught his eye.

She shakes her head at the thought, no man had ever shown affection to her other than Gaston, her former flare. But Belle never counted Gaston, he had only desires her because of the many times she rejected him. He thought of her as prize, while Belle considered him an evil slob. None ever the less, being with the Dark One would surely disappoint her father, and ruin her mother's good name. Belle made a mental note to tell him later on that she was not interested.

Her eyes flickered back to the road as she hears a tree branch snap behind her, a small cursing voice echoed in her ears as she slowly turns around to see a man fidgeting with black leather hat. Belle frowned at the man, his thick hands shaking the head accessory vigorously. She had never seen such violence towards things that couldn't fight back. Belle tightens her grip on her basket as her feet back peddle towards the man, watching him carefully as she neared him.

As Belle reached his side, the man still hadn't noticed her presence, so she softly taps his shoulder which quickly receives her a knife to her throat. She could now see his face clearly, his dark eyes staring at her cautiously, waiting for her to explain herself,"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you, I just noticed how angry you were at your hat and I wanted to see if I could lend you a hand."

The man shakes his head,"It's nothing you could help with...", he releases her and stares at her facial features causing Belle to blush at his demise. His eyes twinkled as a thought filled his mind, his voice spoke again with a faint whisper,"I know you...", he pauses pressing his lips together,"Aren't you the dark ones maid servant girl?"

Belle bites her lip softly and nods at his question,"I have a name you know", she looks up at him, her eyes meeting his.

"I'm sure you do, but I have no business making enemies with the dark one by fornicating with his maid. So scatter."

Belle pouts to herself as he dismisses their conversation and continues to focus his attention back on his hat. She slips her cloak off of her shoulders and hangs it on a nearby tree branch, then sets her basket at the tree roots before turning back to the man desperate for conversation.

"I'm not going anywhere. And for your information, I'm more than just the dark ones servant girl. My name is Belle French, and i'd prefer if you'd call me by my name." Belle seemed proud of her candor as the man stared at her slightly shocked.

"I'm sure you are", his eyes stare at hers, almost staring at her like she was bare naked in front of her, which caused Belle to grow shade of crimson. He clears his throat as his eyes stop wandering down Belle's body, "If you insist, as for me you can call me Jefferson."

Belle smiles sweetly,"Pleasure to meet you Jefferson." She curtsied gently then grasps the hat out of his hand,"Show me how this works." Jefferson nods taking the hat back, throwing it to the ground as a purple cyclone formed from inside the hat.

Jefferson watched as the portal grew, and the wind blew leaves away from them. He sticks out his hand and looks to Belle,"Would you like to accompany me on my journey?" Belle nods and interlocks her fingers with his as they jump into the purple smoke.

StoryBrooke
During First Curse

The dark musty hospital cell gave Lacey chills, she had been trapped there as long as she has ever known. She couldn't remember a time when she wasn't stuck between four white padded walls. Her eyes trail to the cold concrete ground, she hadn't even known why she was there to begin with. Every time Lacey would ask the nurse, the nurse just laughed and clicked back down the hallway. The only happiness and joy she held onto was the small window she hopelessly glanced out every morning right before dawn to watch the sun come up from the east. Lacey loved to watch the colors, it beat the dull grey room she was constantly in.

Her eyes glanced around the room as the Nurse's shoes squeaked at the door,"Here's your slush of the day." She slid a pale pink tray full of food under the trap door for her only physical access to Lacey. Lacey grumbles and turns her focus back to the sunrise, her lips curving at the reds blending with oranges. It was a real beauty to watch, it was utterly and completely peaceful. She presses her lips together, then forms her mouth into a pout. Lacey wished she could be out there, in the sunrise instead of stuck in the basement of the Storybrooke hospital.

Lacey's head turns slowly back towards the tray, she felt suddenly hungry as her legs made their way to the slush they called food. And grabbed the silver fork rolling her eyes at the bold move on the nurse's part. She begins to shovel the slush into her mouth, and looks back to the window. Maybe if she..no thats not a good idea.

She quickly finishes her food and suddenly her eyes drop followed by her head smacking on her cotton pillow. Her mind wanders off to a forest she feels connected to, the bright green leaves shadowing her mind. Lacey's mind drifted off to her special place, her escape from the horrifying reality her body was trapped in. In Lacey's mind, she wandered to a magical place with dragons, wizards, and more importantly, a man. She never saw his face, just small features like a circumcision along his neck. Lacey never thought much of this mystery man, she knew it was all in her head and she was crazy.

As Lacey walked closer to the man, she ached for what his face looked like. Perhaps he was handsome, maybe her soulmate in a different life. She reaches him and touches his arm, the body slowly turning to attention as their faces meet for a split second before Lacey's eyes open back to the gray cell she was trapped in minutes before. The cell door jiggles softly and a dark figure enters the room with her. She sits up gently on her elbows to see who had joyfully joined her, suddenly seeing the man from her dream. Every detail the same as the man from her slumber, she shakes her head,"Do I know you?"
